Sadly, I am returning these beautiful shoes. They are marked correct size 11D but they are extremely tight. I cant hardly get my foot in with a sock on. I purchase a lot of shoes from Amazon and I guess I have been pretty lucky getting shoes that fit perfectly. I purchase mainly Italian made and some made in Spain. The only shoes I have had a fit problem with are To Boot New York that run about a half size larger and Bally Swiss made also run a half size
larger but thats not a big deal, it just adds a little bit to the length. I have on occasion ordered To Boot in a 10&1/2 when 11 was not available and they fit fine. So I guess in a lot of cases as most of you that purchase on line learned that you need to try the shoe on at a local store before purchasing on line.
Even though the shoes don't fit properly, I would give a five star rating for the quality and construction , the shoes are beautiful and I wish they were sized correctly , I really really wanted to buy a good quality shoe made in the U.S.A.
Updated to five stars as of 9/22/11. I tried a pair in triple E after talking to Allen Edmonds factory rep who informed me these shoes were made on a very narrow last and they were to wide, So I went with the 11E and they fit perfect. So If you wear a snug 11D that break in after a few wears you may want to order these shoes in 11E. Beautifully made in the U.S.A. !!!!!!!!!

I love Allen Edmonds--but this pair was really sub par. Some of the pattern is not fully punched through, and the stitching is poor in two places. The leather part of the sole also gives the impression of having been forced to fit. I am really disappointed by this and hope it was a one off and not indicative of what AE is becoming.
