Allen Edmonds makes great shoes... Full grain leather, made in America, and a quality level that is hard to find. The McClain oxford is a great example of the AE tradition, and you won't be sorry buying this shoe.

However, one thing to note. The pair I bought were extremely discounted in the specific size I bought. I thought that Amazon was having a hard time selling that specific size, but after receiving the shoes, I realized that this was due to the fact that they were seconds, distinguished by a small notch on the side of the sole.

Now its worth noting that an AE second is still a high quality shoe, and you have to really look hard to find any imperfections, and the price I paid ($110) was definitely still a bargain for a AE second. That being said, I do take some issue with being shipped a second when the description lists first quality merchandise. If I'm buying a second, I expect it to be clearly sold as a second.

I bought this shoe a month ago - at a great price. It is very comfortable and has a sleek look. One issue is that the shoe size i bought (7E) turned out to be marginally bigger (leghtwise) than what i found with another Allen Edmonds shoe of size 7 that i bought earlier. Other than that, it is been a great buy. Would recommend it highly to everyone - especially at the current posted price ($115 or so).

This was an almost perfect buy! I got a $325+ pair of shoes for $115. I ordered them Saturday afternoon and they arrived Monday afternoon. Awesome.

I've been a big fan of AE for 23 years, since I bought my first pair to wear for my wedding. I still have those shoes, and have bought a number of other AE styles over the years. But the McClain is the most comfortable of them all; they feel like they were custom made for my feet. It's all about the last, and I have found the one that works perfectly for my feet. I actually bought a second pair of these, and I'm planning to have them dyed black, because they weren't available in black. No, they're not cheap, but they are built to last (no pun intended) and can be rebuilt by AE when they need some attention. In the long run, more economical than buying a lot of cheap shoes. And... they're still made in the USA, unlike some other "American" brands I have bought in the past.

the Quality is unbeaten, but the size D is very narrow and didn't fit the wide feet.
