GETTING TO BE AN OLD STORY,
By D. McAllister "MRD" (Somewhere in the Field) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Allen Illustrated Guide to Saddlery (Allen Illustrated Guides) (Hardcover)
Like her book, BITS AND BITTING, Hilary Vernon's book THE ALLEN ILLUSTRATED GUIDE TO SADDLERY is a total lightweight. From too many generalities to incomplete and confusing information, the book falls considerably short of expectations. But as I said, this is getting to be an old story. The price of the book is also a disappointment. Like BITS, SADDLERY is exorbitantly expensive and, page for page, offers a whole lotta nothin'. Pass on this one.

Great Teaching Tool,
By
This review is from: The Allen Illustrated Guide to Saddlery (Allen Illustrated Guides) (Hardcover)
These Allen's Illustrated books are super for use in teaching Pony Clubbers, 4-Hers, etc. about equipment used in the equine industry. The color illustrations are fantastic. Anyone working on a Quiz Rally (think MegaRoom) or Quiz Bowl will find them useful. They are clear about what each item is and its use.
