ALLEN SPORTS NOW OFFERS THE CORRECT STRAP,
By Charlotte H. (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews

This just in- you can now get a replacement strap direct from allensports usa - they just added the part to their website. Paypal available. . It's $5.00 plus $5 shipping. Seems a bit high since all I did was lose the j hook but they are completely unavailable anywhere else in the world, so far, in my search... so here you have a solution. Just FYI.

These are the exact straps that come with the allen mt series as well as the 100 series, they are both used for tie down and are added to the j hook//bumper hooks,
IE: they are the exact strap for the deluxe 102dB, minus the hooks, they can be remodded//stitched to hold the hooks though, if you cannot find new hooked straps, I see people paying upwards of 200$ for these racks, I found them doing a simple advanced search for less than 30$,,,, These are the easiest to use and best bike racks to buy if you don't want a locked system,,,,,, [...]

Since the original straps from my Allen trunk rack dry rotted after a year of use. I figured I could just replace the straps instead of the entire rack. I assumed that these were the straps that were used to secure the rack to my care. Unfortunately the description wasn't clear enough. These are simply two nylon straps with buckles. I ended up just giving up on my Allen rack and getting a Saris rack since I didn't want to spend another $100 on a rack whose straps disintegrate after one season.
