5.0 out of 5 stars great pillow protectors
These protectors seem to be really nice and I think that they will help keep our pillows nice a lot longer since we can wash them and not the pillows.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best quality, but ok, and very inexpensive
These pillow covers seem to have 2 layers to them: the inner layer against the pillow is an extremely thin plastic layer that is presumably the allergen barrier, and the layer on top of it is like a super super thin gauze, exactly like an airplane pillow cover, that almost feels like it could be paper. They were fine for a few months, we cover them over with cotton pillow...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best quality, but ok, and very inexpensive, September 13, 2009
This review is from: Aller-Ease Waterproof, Dust Mite, Allergy Pillow Encasement, Set of 2, Standard (Kitchen)
These pillow covers seem to have 2 layers to them: the inner layer against the pillow is an extremely thin plastic layer that is presumably the allergen barrier, and the layer on top of it is like a super super thin gauze, exactly like an airplane pillow cover, that almost feels like it could be paper. They were fine for a few months, we cover them over with cotton pillow cases anyway, but I've noticed that they have started trapping little balls of something, like dust or grease or something, in between the layers. All in all, they do their job of keeping dust and allergens away, but in the future I think I may spend a few more dollars to get one that's thicker plastic and more of a waterproof+allergen barrier type, rather than this. But if you're really pressed for money, these are fine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor quality / like paper, May 16, 2010

I have ordered allergy/pillow covers before from
other venders, and they were inexpensive and fairly
good quality---like very soft cotton. These pillow
covers are like very, very stiff paper---they crackle
and ANNOY you when you sleep on them. I cannot recommend
this item to anyone....they are in my trash can!

1.0 out of 5 stars Plastic Pillow Covers, April 21, 2009
Aller Ease Classic Allergen Barrier Pillow Cover, Set of 2Aller-Ease Classic Allergen Barrier Standard Pillow Cover, Set of 2

I was so disappointed when I opened the package. They feel and sound like plastic. They remind me of hospital pillows.

1.0 out of 5 stars If you like the sound of crinkling all night long...., August 16, 2011

Read the reviews before I purchased them and was excited that they were recommended for allergy sufferers etc. The thing is that they are made of this obnoxious sounding material. They make a crinkling sound so although you may be protected from allergies etc, you'll be up with insomnia all night. Not what I want!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works wonderfully, but with some drawbacks, December 20, 2011

This pillow cover was for my significant other, who suffers from an assortment of household and seasonal allergies. The reviews were great, but I found out a couple of things after we purchased the pillow that no one else seems to note.

Mainly, the cover rustles. When it comes into contact with any material or pressure, it gives off a crackling sound like folding paper. If you're a light sleeper (and he usually is), the sound makes it hard to sleep, effectively nullifying the cover's better aspects. After a few weeks of using this cover, he wound up having to remove it. Ah, well...lesson learned.

So here's my contribution....this item works exactly as described. However, they need to clarify that the material the cover is made from is NOT a soft fabric, but a thicker material that will cause some noise.

very plastic feeling and crinkly under your head not the greatest product. I got two free ones with the purchase of our pillows later and they were much better.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like them!, September 21, 2011

They sure do work! They sure were able to protect my pillows from my sons drooling and from our lil puppy peeing on it! I've washed them and hanged them dry and they're still good as new. They make a plastic noise when you lay on them but it won't interfere with your sleep.

This pillow cover appears to be better than most large box retailers. They are thicker and seem to do the trick.
