5.0 out of 5 stars VERY HELPFUL
Being prone to allergies I found this a very inciteful and helpful book. This is a down-to-earth and practical look at how protect you and your family from everything from dust mites to asthma. At last a book written in simple english to help us allergy sufferers.

1.0 out of 5 stars not practical at all - it would have 0 stars if possible
Here's an example of this "practical advice": page 118 - "Choose deoderants that work by inhibiting the growth of odor-forming bacteria on your body" . . . Nowhere does it say how to identify what these might be or where to buy them if you knew what they were. "Ask a non-allergic person to groom dogs several times a week outside" page 77...

Nowhere does it say how to identify what these might be or where to buy them if you knew what they were. "Ask a non-allergic person to groom dogs several times a week outside" page 77 . Like I couldn'thave thought of that all by myself? And what do these examples have to do with my home? Then it tells me on page 11 "our bodies encounter fewer microbes in daily life and our immune systems have started to tilt away from a protective response towards an allergic one" (supposedly because people are "too" clean nowadays) and then they spend the rest of the book telling me to avoid toxic substances (like the aforementioned deoderant!) I will agree that it has some very nice pictures in it as the reviewer stated. . .
