Book Description

June 5, 2000 Avery Health Guides
For anyone interested in finding methods of allergy treatment outside of those offered in mainstream medicine, this is the source. Written in a clear, straightforward style, this book describes allergies and food sensitivities, then discusses alternative treatments including acupuncture, acupressure, reflexology, aromatherapy, homeopathy, nutrition, visual imagery, and more.

Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

The subtitle of this useful book is somewhat misleading, as Goldfarb (Ph.D., health science, Greenwich Univ.) addresses all forms of allergy relief. She first defines and explains allergies, then, beginning with conventional therapies such as avoidance and medications, proceeds through nutritional and herbal therapies, homeopathy, acu-puncture, Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques (NAET), and visual imagery. Appendix A summarizes the advantages, disadvantages, and cost of each treatment method, while Appendix B lists resource organizations. A bibliography explains where to find more extensive information about the therapies described. No particular treatment is advocated, and the entire approach is objective and levelheaded. All this information has not been previously brought together in one source. For public libraries and health science collections.

5.0 out of 5 stars Allergy relief, August 3, 2000
This review is from: Allergy Relief: Choosing the Most Current Natural Therapies (Paperback)
I don't have any allergies but my brother has. I got this book and before giving it to him I read it. It explains what allergy is, what causes it and of course how to deal with it. If you suffer from allergies, i believe this is the book for you to cure them naturally. My brother (who is also against any form of medication) is already doing MUCH MUCH better after following the instructions in this book; improve his immune system, make the environment around him better and understand what allergy is. Simple steps you can take will lead to better living without much effort really. The book is simply written, easy to understand, which I find to be very important. Some books are heavy and boring because there are authors who think that they talk to other doctors and not to simple people who did not study medicine (Sorry for that). Allergy problem? I don't think you will find a better book on the subject than this.

This is a testimonial for Barbara G. to write in to Amazon.com about the book Allergy Relief that she read and praised (spontaneously).

I wish people would buy Allergy Relief. It is so clear and simple to understand and there's so much in it that you can do yourself. Besides being good for my allergies, it says many important things about how to live well. I want to be healthy and live a long time and feel lucky that i found this book to help me.
