More About the Author

Merla Zellerbach is a native San Franciscan who attended Grant School, Lowell High, and Stanford. She has served on many charitable and cultural boards, was a feature columnist for the SF Chronicle for 23 years, a permanent panelist on KGO-TV's "Oh My Word," and editor-in-chief of the Nob Hill Gazette for 12 years.

Her present passions include serving on the board of Compassion & Choices, a national non-profit that believes in the right of terminally ill, mentally competent patients to make their own end-of-life decisions.

Her writing credits to date include articles in many national magazines, five self-help medical books, and nine novels. Her newest, The Missing Mother -- A Hallie Marsh Mystery, has just been published (in 2010).

She's married to Lee Munson, has a wonderful son Gary Z., and wife Linda, two grandchildren, and lives (happily) in San Francisco.
