5.0 out of 5 stars I can use my down duvet again!

3.0 out of 5 stars Unsure
Order arrived quickly and as expected. We bought it worried about dust mites. We have not experienced any significant change in allergic reactions, so don't know what to attribute to it.

We had to stop using our down duvet because the down was actually coming out of it even though it was inside the duvet cover. This caused many sneezing and nose-running ridden nights as well as mornings. I was contemplating on getting rid of it since it was just sitting in storage.

After doing some searching online, I found some allergy duvet covers and found that this was one of the least expensive ones. I didn't want to spend too much to find out that the cover didn't work. That would be more money wasted.

I received this cover a few days after ordering and quickly washed it for use. It wasn't very hard to put on the duvet. Actually it was like any other duvet cover. We used it last night and how wonderful it was to use our down duvet again! Just in time for the chilly weather too! I haven't put it inside the duvet cover yet because we wanted to see if it would work so I guess today I'll be fitting it into our standard duvet cover.

The quality is sturdy, seams seem to be well done and zipper is heavy duty. It's not coated with any funny chemicals just 100% cotton.

I'm very happy with the cover so far even though it's been 1 night with it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Seems fine - note the size though, November 10, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I received my covers yesterday and haven't used them yet - but they look fine and seem soft. One problem is that the 'queen size' is actually only 86 x 86 inches, so won't fit my 'queen' sized duvet at 90 x 90 - I'll have to return it which will cost me the shipping. Note the sizes before you order, since you may need larger than you think.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, May 30, 2010

The cover seems to be working well. I followed the advice of other purchasers and use a separate, washable cover over the allergy cover, so it rarely needs to be washed. My only complaint is that it is quite large and I our down comforter seems to "get lost" inside of it. It's hard to keep it straight. I may sew some tabs on there to tie it in place inside the cover. Great deal on a good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathable and Very Soft!, March 25, 2011

This review is from: Allersoft 100-Percent Cotton Dust Mite & Allergy Control King Duvet Protector (Kitchen)
I spend more time in bed than the average person, so I really value comfort and allergy control. This Duvet cover (why is a duvet cover going over a comforter instead of a duvet?) really enhances my comforter. It is airy and light, the importance of which is the air pockets to hold in heat, while not causing to sweat like crazy.

This is my 2nd duvet cover, as I already have a Queen Size duvet comforter (wish I had gotten Allersoft though...) and decided to encase my King size feather alternative comforter. I also use the Allersoft pillow cases and mattress encasings, which is how I fell in love with their products, but this cover came with a wonderful surprise! The inside corners have ties to hold the comforter in place! No more sneaking down to the bottom of the bed for this comforter! I love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars good dust mite protection, April 9, 2011

I used to wake up every night due to irritating dust mites. I almost had to wash my comforter every two days plus freezing it during the day. This cover works great. I finally get good nights of sleep without being disturbed by any dust mites.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic but tad thin, November 23, 2011

This review is from: Allersoft 100-Percent Cotton Dust Mite & Allergy Control King Duvet Protector (Kitchen)
LOVE THIS! I would have given it 5 stars if it was a little cheaper. I paid $74 frm Amazon.

PROS:
- It's 100% cotton (no crinkly polyprop) with that awesome crisp feel.
- Long zipper (vs buttons so your duvet doesn't hang out)
- corner ties inside to keep duvet in place
- Feather-proof. Especially obvious when I unzip the cover - feathers + dust flies around.
- I don't have severe allergies, but it's working great for me. You can tell it has a tight weave.
- extremely light-weight.

CONS:
- Thin. So thin you can see the color of my duvet (which is cream). Not a huge con in my book. In fact, thinking of getting another one because I love this one so much. One as a protector and 2nd one as a duvet cover that gets removed + washed. I think that will take care of the see-through factor. Wish it was slighter cheaper considering how thin it is... That's the only reason I took a star off.
- Quite wrinkly out of the dryer. But I like my sheets kinda wrinkly. Makes the bed look cozy.

Hope this review was helpful. They drive my decisions, so I've decided to review my purchases from now on.

5.0 out of 5 stars no more feather room!, April 12, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I hate the fact that my down comforter isn't made IN this material already, but alas! This works great-I was having to wash my duvet covers 1x per week to keep the down dust off, and dry mopped the hardwoods every other night before I got this. Cleaned the room and the duvet cover first, slipped the comforters in these and after the end of 1 week there was no feather/down dust on the floors, and the duvets still looked clean.

A Kid's Review
My daughter coughed and sneezed a lot when she first woke up in the morning. There is a notable difference after we put her blanket in the cover. she actually has a better sleep at night. Overall, I am happy

We had a real problem with feathers leaking from our down comforters. After putting on the Allersoft, not a single feather has leaked. Its made such a difference in our bedroom and I no longer spend time every day pulling feathers off my clothes. They do add a little weight to the blanket, but overall are a great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for mattress toppers too, April 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I got the full/queen size duvet cover, but I'm using it on my California King size mattress topper - the cover hangs over by a couple of inches on either side, but when the sheets are on we don't notice.

I previously used a Medibed mattress cover over both the topper and the mattress below, but it strained to fit, and I found it wore out every couple of years (and before that I used a cover with a membrane coating, which was sticky and awful). The Allersoft cover stays on better, and generally feels more comfortable.

I do wish that Allersoft made topper covers and futon covers, with a clamshell zipper like they have for their mattress covers, but the duvet cover is working well enough.
