4.0 out of 5 stars bargain price, January 1, 2009
This review is from: Alli 90ct Bonus Twin Pack, 2.6 Packages (Health and Beauty)
this twin pack is the best price I've seen for Alli. It comes with two complete starter kits, that include travel pill holders, food journals, calorie guides, and full instructions. It is perfect if you have a buddy that wants to start this diet plan with you, or if you just want to save some money yourself. I've been using the Alli pills for a few weeks now, and have lost several pounds. I have not had any drastic treatment effects, but I find they do make me gassy. If I know I'm going to eat a fatty meal, I skip the pill for that meal, just in case. The thought of "oily discharge" will certainly keep most people from overdoing the fat, so that in itself is a good diet motivator. When you get your kit, you can register on the Alli site, where you can get more information and use the message boards for support.
Price update: The price on Amazon has gone up since I originally reviewed this product, however, they have several other sizes with reasonable and competitive prices, today, 1/19, the 150 size starter pack is $44.95, so it pays to check each size when you order for the best price.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Best Deal Out There On This "Helper" Pill for Weight Loss, December 26, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Alli 90ct Bonus Twin Pack, 2.6 Packages (Health and Beauty)
This 2-pack deal is the lowest price you will find for Alli. However, I encourage you to read on if you are unsure if Alli is right for you.

First, if you are looking for a magic pill to help you lose weight without controlling your diet and not exercising then save your money and just keep on browsing. This is not for you.

Alli was meant for people who need a "boost". For people who are really trying, but just need a little extra help to shed those pounds. It was not meant for people who eat high-fat meals and have no intention of changing their diet or exercise habits. This pill will work if you are willing to commit to it -- and that is the magic word.

Let's be serious here -- dieting works when you make a commitment between your body and yourself that you want to change. Dieting works when you break a sweat and get active; it works when you put down the Big Mac and pick up the whole wheat lean turkey sandwich; it works when you stop drinking soda and start drinking water and other healthy beverages. Dieting only works when you put the effort into it.

Yet, for some folks, they need a little help now and then. Maybe they need to break through a plateau they have reached, or they need a way to help them work through the long winter months when outside activity is not possible. That is where Alli comes in. Alli works by stopping your body from absorbing some of the fat in the foods that you eat -- not all, but about 25-30% of it. Since fat contains the most calories, it helps you take off weight by limiting the amount of calories your body actually consumes from the food you eat.

The side effects of Alli (which are well known by now) are common when you eat diets with too much fat in them. Pizza, greasy burgers and french fries are almost guaranteed to give you a "treatment effect" as they call it. I call it a motivator to not eat so much fattening food!

So if you are ready to change your life for the better I suggest that you take these steps:

1. Commit to yourself to do it.
2. Get active! 30 minutes a day.
3. Eat healthy. Don't starve yourself, but eat healthy meals and snacks.
4. Give the first 3 at least three months to work. If after 3 months you find you need an additional boost then purchase Alli.
