5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing stuff!
I wanted a tool kit to have around the house and believe me, this one is that and a whole lot more. I'm sure it has more things than you would use in one lifetime. Awesome value.

3.0 out of 5 stars You get what you give...
You really get...what you pay for you can expect to get the same quality for the price you're paying. I must admit, I only grabbed the opportunity to purchase this since I'm using a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate. Otherwise, I would have purchased separate, good quality tools, rather than a toolkit with mediocre quality.

Like the other reviewer said, the stamped wrenches...

Like the other reviewer said, the stamped wrenches pictured behind the adjustable wrench is really, really cheesy. Same goes for the tire guage. Typical 'made in china' products.

I believe the toolkit would survive home use, but I think it would not survive the rigors and abuse that tools go through when using them for automotive repair tasks. The wrenches are only forged steel and not chrome vanadium, which is the material of choice for wrenches.

Plus points for this product would be the inclusion of both metric and SAE, and also the bundle of different tools for the price.

Minus points go to the stamped mini-wrenches, small flathead and philpps screwdriver and tire guage. Also, the package comes with some greasy anti-corrosion lubricant which spread throughout the toolkit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Value, December 6, 2000

Got to say I was afraid this would be some cheap tools and that it would be a waste of money. Was I very surprised to find out I was wrong. This is the perfect tool kit to keep in your car or just use around the house. If you are in need of a compact tool kit that has a tool for most uses....you found it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Much nicer than I expected., December 18, 2000

This set is a pretty wide variety of tools and quality. I'd fear doing whatever task that would require wrenches, sockets, screws, plyers, wire stripping, electrical testing, wire brushing, tire pressure guaging and gap feeling all at the same time. The weak points to the set are the tire guage which is pretty cheesy and the stamped metal wrenches pictured behind the adjustable wrench. I'm not sure what their intended function is, but they are pretty wimpy. The high points would be the sockets and cast wrenches which, while not snap-on, should be durable enough to serve any home function you'd expect to find. For the price, the convenience of having any one of these tools when you need it is worth the money. Bundle in the fact that they are all together in a handy case and its a fantastic set.

For the price, this tool set is an outstanding value. Quality is quite good. Although intended for the car, the tools can be used for many jobs around the house. I was very pleased with this purchase.

Perfect for moving into a new house - it's got everything you need to get started.

But don't get this if you want to work on your car - the tools just aren't up to the job. I've had to replace a few of the sockets and the wrench itself already.

As a woman, I don't use tools too often and when i do, I don't really know what it is I'm using. that's why I found these tools very useful and easy to handle. It has 159 pieces and I can easily use any of them to assemble bookcases, install light fixures and fix small odd things around my house. I have enev used them to put a bike together for my niece. The sturdy case securly holds all the wrenches, pliers and driver sets. The pliers all have rubber grips, which I found to come in handy, especially with my slipepry fingers. I have used these tools more than I ever thought I would and the price is very reasonable.

It's a pretty complete set. Only thing missing is a portable drill.

LOVE IT! Especially the price of $20 which was a SPECIAL on Amazon.com that I paid when I bought mine.
