This review is from: Allied Secret: The Sinking of Hmt Rohna (Paperback)
This is the dramatic story of the sinking of the HMT Rohna, which resulted in one of the greatest number of casualties suffered in WWII. The fact that the huge loss of life and the subsequent cover-up of the details surrounding it make for fascinating and disturbing reading. Limited publications exist on the subject, so this is a valuable resource for interested historians, although the book itself is rather impersonal and seems to suffer from misguided editing...especially the final chapter which becomes strangely sentimental. |
