Allied submarines of World War Two,

This review is from: Allied Submarines of World War Two (Hardcover)
I have given up reading this book at page 49. From a historian's standpoint it is a farce, showing very irresponsible and shallow research work.
The author's claims are incredible flights of fantasy. He states that the German tanker Gedania was sunk whereas she was only lightly damaged, he claims HMS Trident severely damaged U-31 in a running gn battle when the German had hardly a scratch, he claims USS R.1 hit a U-boat on 18 April 1942 without naming her, my research shows the U-boat was U-582 which did not suffer even a scratch, and so on. I definitely do NOT recommend it to those who are seriously interested in the submarine war.

A mediocre book full of inconsistencies and inaccuracies ....and unfortunately.......coverage is primarily concerned with British Sub Ops in WWII...Coverage of other nation's Sub Ops is minimal.....
