Great photographic reference for modellers...
Not one of the better ones in the series, but still more than worth the original cover price of $5.95, which is close to what I paid for my copy. There are 29 total books in this series, I only own 10, the best one being the one about Allied tanks in Italy. I still found enough material in this one to give me a few ideas for dioramas.

disappointing
The series of Tank Illustrated are old books that are usually very good even by today's standards but I must say this is the poorest of these books I have seen so far. The pictures are a very disappointing in my opinion. I sent my book back for a refund. The book on Afrika Korps by George Balin is also poor but still better than this one.

This book is totally comprised of photographs and extended descriptions of the photos. There is very little other exposition. The multitude of previously unseen photos is the basis of the recommendation. There are are at least of few examples of most of the tanks used in this theater.
