5.0 out of 5 stars School Kids love Aligator Baby!
This is my fifth year with the elementary school, yet it is my first year in the library. The first book that I read to the children was 'Aligator Baby'. 3.0 out of 5 stars A Recommendation by Margot
This book is about a mom and dad who are looking for their baby. They found an alligator, seal and a gorilla. The got the baby from the gorilla. I liked this book because it is funny because they keep getting different animals. It is crazy!

5.0 out of 5 stars School Kids love Aligator Baby!, January 21, 2000

This review is from: Alligator Baby (Paperback)
This is my fifth year with the elementary school, yet it is my first year in the library. The first book that I read to the children was 'Aligator Baby'. I believe what the children love the most about this book is that there is never a dull moment! All the children participate in what is going to happen next, and they enjoy finishing the sentences. This tells me that the children are focused, and they want me to read it over and over! It is fun to act out the parts as I read to the classes. (1st grade to 3rd grade.) I really do need more books like this one for the chidren. One of the specials that I have with the children is that each child can share a "favorite page" from a book they borrowed. The students always have something good to say about 'Aligatory Baby'. Thanks

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book when you're bringing home another baby., April 3, 2004
This review is from: Alligator Baby (Paperback)
We got this book as a shower gift when our son was born. We read this over and over to his older sister. I can't imagine a better, more entertaining book for a 3 year old who is welcoming home a new sibling.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fun lighthearted children's book!, January 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Alligator Baby (Hardcover)
I found this book while taking a Children's Literature class. It is a funny tale of a five year old that knows more than her parents about what her new baby sibling should look like. It has great repeating lines that get children involved in the story. I highly recommend this book. It is entertaining for both children and adults.

5.0 out of 5 stars My granddaughter's favorite book., October 14, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Alligator Baby (Hardcover)
I had this sent to my 2 year old granddaughter. She is expecting a baby brother in 4 months and just loves this story. Her mom has to read her the story every night and my granddaughter has favorite lines from ALLIGATOR BABY that she yells out!

4.0 out of 5 stars Alligator Baby, May 16, 2004

This review is from: Alligator Baby (Paperback)
I really liked this book, because it was funny. Kristen's parents kept bringing home animal babies from the zoo instead of a people baby. Kristen saved the day because she went to the zoo and got the right baby from the gorilla's cage. But it was funny at the end when all the mommy animals break into the house to get their babies back

4.0 out of 5 stars Now Kristen, don't be jealous!, July 26, 2008
This review is from: Alligator Baby (Paperback)
Another weird book by Munsch.

Kristen's clueless parents drive to the zoo instead of the hospital when her mom is in labor. Three times, they ignore their daughter's warnings that their son is another's, and three times they get whapped in the face by the not-a-people-baby.

Finally, Kristen has to save the day, which she does in a quick and admirable way (the illustrations in the zoo are funny in and of themselves, by the way). Everybody gets their own baby back, and we're told that everything is fine from then on... until Kristen's mom had twins. (Uh-oh.)

This book is so absurd, you can't not love it. I really recommend it to anybody having a second child. It's a wonderful change of pace from standard "new baby" books.

This is a fun, hilarious book for children. My granddaughter and I have read it together many times, even as a play!! Robert Munsch seems to connect with children in all of his books. I have never been disappointed. Alligator Baby is a great reading experience for children.

4.0 out of 5 stars That's not our baby!, December 5, 2009
This review is from: Alligator Baby (Paperback)
Kristen's mother is having a baby. She and father hurry to the hospital, but they end up at the zoo instead. Somehow the babies got mixed up, and the one Kristen's mother brought home had a long green tail, a green claw, and a long green face with lots of teeth. That's not a people face!
Two more trips back to the zoo to find Kristen's baby brother are equally unsuccessful. Finally Kristen makes the trip herself, and rescues her baby brother.

A silly story for toddlers who laugh at the various animal babies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Response to Literature by Monte, November 4, 2008
This review is from: Alligator Baby (Paperback)
Alligator baby
I read the alligator baby. It was a woman who had a baby in the zoo. The parents keep going back and forward because they thought they grabbed the baby but they grabbed baby animals. This time the little girl went and got her little baby brother back. This book is five stars because it is funny!

5.0 out of 5 stars A favourite, September 21, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Alligator Baby (Paperback)
This is one of our favourite books. A humorous look at a new addition to the family. This was the perfect story for our two children when #3 child arrived, the humour takes away some of the stress and expectation for young children when a new baby is joining the family. Also a great gift.
