Miles Smeeton composed rhymes on scraps of paper his entire life. He spent many of his days traveling on his yacht, the TZU HANG , and would send his granddaughters alligator poems written on postcards.

This review is from: Alligator Tales (Hardcover)
this is a really good deal, very cheap for a hardcover book. anyways, if you like alligators and want some nice stories and pictures about them, get this book. my little brother got it and i was flipping through and it's pretty cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read aloud for all ages, July 9, 2001

This review is from: Alligator Tales (Hardcover)
I was turned on tothis book after hearing portions read on the radio show Chin-Wag-theater (national public radio). You don't have to be a professional storyteller to get your kids to listen. They are fun, light poems about a subject that is already interesting to them, alligators and crocodiles. There are also a few sly jokes for the grown ups too. As a teacher I think that this is a very accessable way for kids to get into poetry.
