Editorial Reviews

On a world where the single massive continent has been literally cut in two by mountains and rivers since the dawn of time, the ongoing wars between those on the opposing sides have continued for so long that the memory of when they first started has long

5.0 out of 5 stars Took them long enough... April 29, 2011
This is without a doubt one of the best flight series I've seen. I still remember catching it as it aired. Art is top notch and the characters don't get boring. It will keep you watching and when it ends, you'll wish for more. There is a lot of backstory and side plots which could be developed in this since the story spans well over a decade. Because of that, this series is split into two parts. The first part takes bits from Allison's life. The second part picks up later with her daughter Lillia. Both characters have their similarities and contrasts. They are supported by a great cast of secondary characters, most of which have just as interesting stories as the main cast.

Until the Valkyria Chronicles Anime gets a US release, this show is about as close to that type of WWII world as you can get. Its great that Allison and Lillia is finally getting the release it deserves, but its a shame it's taken so long when other shows clearly not up to the same caliber, get almost instant releases.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! October 27, 2012
By KevinB
In a continent that has been at war for over 100 years 2 orphans may change the world. Allison and her childhood friend Will are pilots and they are on a personal quest behind enemy lines trying to stop the crazy war from dragging on longer.

This anime is great. The animation, voice acting, music, characters, and plot are all top notch. The story is original. The characters are developed well and keep you watching. The animation is as good as it gets w/o being Appleseed or Final Fantasy. My only issue with this is that there isn't a dub. This series, like most animes doesn't need one; but I prefer to watch and focus on the video as opposed to trying to read subtitles instead of focusing on the video. That's just my preference. It's not really important to this review. I think this is an amazing anime. It deserves to be given a chance by everyone. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute characters and fast paced plot October 19, 2011
The countries of Roxche and Bezel Itoa have been at war for over a century, but are currently enjoying a ceasefire. Will is a student in Roxche about to start his relaxing summer break... But his childhood friend, Allison, has other plans. Allison is a pilot in the Roxchen air force, and she is both headstrong and adventurous. Soon they find themselves in enemy territory on a quest to find a treasure that will stop the war for good!

Allison & Lillia is a fast paced and enjoyable series. The first half (this set) covers three story arcs and a kind of epilogue. Every arc manages to have one eye rolling plot point, but the characters help pull you through.

Allison and Will are both fun characters, Allison with her enthusiasm and Will with his levelheadedness. The setting is the kind you don't spend a lot of time thinking about, but you still appreciate and enjoy. The whole series has an almost relaxing feel to it, despite its action packed plot.
