4.0 out of 5 stars Boston, not so commom, March 4, 2009
This review is from: The Allman Brothers Band, Boston Common, 8-17-71 (Audio CD)
Here's some info on how this cd compares to some of the others in this series of releases. This recording is better than the StonyBrook release and the American Univ release. Yes, there are some minor faults to the sound, but in all it is superior to the others mentioned. A big plus is the percussion was miked very well and sounds really good. Both guitars were on fire (as usual) and sound good although no major surprises here. If you liked the other releases mentioned, you will be happy with this one as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars CLASSIC ALLMAN, December 10, 2008

This review is from: The Allman Brothers Band, Boston Common, 8-17-71 (Audio CD)
I picked this one up off the Allman Brothers web sight, I am very impressed with it. Great song selection, some hiss but not that bad. Another plus is it clocks in at almost eighty minutes, they also have Duane & Berry with them. Some great guitar from Dickey & Duane, and Gregg & Dickey deliver their classic vocals. This is the last so far of this series, all five sets are well worth purchasing. There is not a whole lot out there of the older stuff with Duane & Berry, so this is great stuff to have.

Any official new music from the original line-up of the brothers is great news and a must have. This album does not disappoint. Highlights include You Don't Love, Hoochie Coochie Man, and Whipping Post. Buy it and join in on the Nectar Fest!!!
