I really like 'Allo Darlin' and the references I have seen to Belle and Sebastian, Camera Obscura etc are well made but this Antipodean/London band are in that general area with their own sound and live they are completely different.

Fave tracks are 'If loneliness was art' which has been a single and is sublime in its imagery and haunting piano riff. I love the way Elizabeth Morris uses everyday items as comparator in her lexicon of poetic references, and this is true throughout except maybe track 8, 'Let's go swimming' which is a great summer song. The one which always gets me though is 'My heart is a drummer' which I said immediately I heard it was 'Girls just wanna have fun', but I have since learnt that this is on purpose as a tribute to Ms Lauper.

This is a great offering from a London based band who whilst they might still be learning their trade do show a promising future beckons and if 'Silver Dollars' is anything to go by (ie autobiographical as it tells of the financial woes of being in a band) then they could do with your hard earned sheckles so go on spoil yourself and get a copy.

The more I listen to this, the more I like it. As a former fan of the long departed Sarah Records, this fills the void nicely. Sonically, they are a bit like Camera Obscurra meets The Primitives. Lots of great electric guitar fills out the sound...sometimes ringing, sometimes jangling, sometimes fuzzed, always melodic. Well done and well worth purchasing.

If you didn't know better, you'd swear this was a greatest hits album. It's just one amazing indie pop gem after another, some are just innocent fun ("Kiss Your Lips"), others about loving life and music despite just barely scratching out a subsistence living (Silver Dollars, Dreaming), and the Polaroid Song is the best song about the ephemeral nature of memories and relationships with photos as a metaphor since the Kinks' Picture Book. Heartbeat Chilli is one of the most sincere, heartfelt love songs I've ever heard. Utterly fantastic!!!

The 2012 release is superb! Great jangly ear candy. This first one is pretty uneven and comes off like a not so serious attempt.
