There's sum things about you I wish I never knew....,
This review is from: Allroy Saves (Audio CD)
Punk with a brain. Not just a band with a cool video and a catchy hook. Witty, smart lyrics that make you laugh and think and pogo your little beatle boots off...Thats how I would describe ALL. This is my favorite album by the rawkers. From the cute kid charm of 'Frog' to the worldly aware "just living", "sum" and "educated idiot" you will dig this amazingly fun and wildly amusing bunch of punky tunes. Think Pinhead Gunpowder or Cringer but only more cool and fun and smart...

ALL reaches their peak with Allroy Saves.,
By "novemberovertime" (New Brunswick Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Allroy Saves (Audio CD)
This is, in my opinion, the BEST ALL album. Everything came together so well on this one. The odd time signatures, the tempo changes, Stephen Egerton's squeaky, pop-punk-prog, diminished fifth guitar style, Alvarez' flying, thumping dit-dit-dit bass work, it's all melding so well on this release. Top it off with Scott Reynolds totally on top of his game, and you've got an album that both stands alongside the Descendents best work, and stands on it's own. With Allroy Saves, ALL took the complexity of the music to the highest possible level without sacrificing melody or coherence. It's smart, it's meaningful, but it's still a hell of a lot of fun. I think one of my favorite things about this album is the unusual melancholy undertone to it. Still catchy as hell, and driving, but not all shine and sugar. It makes for a memorable collection of songs. Standout Tracks: "Just Like Them", "Prison", "Educated Idiot", "Crawdad"... "Frog" and Freaky" lighten things up a bit.. "Ratchet" kicks ass... This album is a genre-topping, if not defining, landmark classic. It should be in all the books that document such things.

An ablum with a message,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Allroy Saves (Audio CD)
I know a lot people think punk suxs and this is some of the most baisic musical numbers you will hear, but the lryics are great the ablum starts off really sad. Than later gets a bit more happy one of the best things about this cd is the lryics and the fact that it is an ablum worth buying because the single tracks aren't so great alone but work out great in the albums order. This has a few musical surprizes as well so it isn't completely blah musically.
