For those unfamiliar with this Cali punk/pop/concept band, All is basically Descendents minus lead singer/juice Milo Aukerman. Most Descendents fans seem to think of All as simply a weaker Xerox of that band's glory, but All is distinguished by the fluctuating despair and neurosis in their lyrics, which serves as a logical progression from the smarmy love songs of days gone by. The Allsters rotate lyrical duties here as usual, but there is a definite theme of confused irritation which starts off lightheartedly enough with the self-depricating "Fool" and gets progressively darker through "Scary Sad" (an ode to a suicidal girlfriend), "Box" (a disturbing satire on couch-patato pathos), "Copping Z" (a superficially silly tune about oversleeping with a dark, alienated undercurrent), and "She's My Ex" (the ultimate post-breakup self-flagellation). Scott Reynolds is not the strongest singer of the many who have sat in the All lead vocalist chair, but he turns in some sweet lyrics (particularly "Box") and doesn't have current singer Chad Price's love-it-or-hate-it resemblance to Brian Adams. This is All's most musically diverse and emotionally involving effort, and Descendents fans who are starting to outgrow "I'm Not a Loser" and "Enjoy!" really should check it out.

Have you ever heard "I love Descendents, but All suck" or words to that effect? This is the record that SHOULD shut said jerks right up, but somehow they never seem to get it. I find it quite reminiscent of "Milo Goes To College", right down to the tracking and pace(except this one opens with an instrumental, and you can throw a good dose of the 'dents' "All" record in too). Bittersweet pop and neurotic schizophrenic jazzy punk(and a little metal, even reminiscent of Van Halen:"Copping Z's"), you can't go wrong. Could use a remix and remastering-check out the "greatest hits" All cd and you'll hear why. If you're gonna get one All album, this is the one.

Yep, this is definately ALL's greatest ALLbum. Why they arent in the Top 10 beats me?....... ALL along with the Descendents have definately helped to keep the punk scene alive... and they are 10 times better then Creed and Blink 182.

I will never understand how bands like Blink 182,Good Charlotte and The Offspring sell so many albums and a fantastic band like ALL have a hard time scraping together money for cheeseburgers.Catchy,eccentric,and just a tad sarcastic in its execution,Allroy's Revenge should have been the album to introduce the world to punk,not Nirvana and Green Day.Of the 14 songs on display,I think my personal favorite is Scary Sad,a sardonic and sorrowful look at the love in '89 or '05.She's My Ex is an eloquent ode to heavy on the stomach angst which never goes out of style.I myself like sleeping in,so obviously I enjoyed Copping Z's.Now honestly who among us hasn't wondered what can I expect from the years ahead at least once a week?I loved their sloppy and quirky cover of Hot Rod Lincoln,as well as the ALLways required love song Mary.This album is perfect in every way.Why Green Day got popular and ALL can't scrape together pizza money is beyond me..

It's hard to put something that hasn't already been said by those before me.
If you are just getting into ALL, I recommend this release over others such as Percolator.
This has some of my favorite ALL songs; Fool, Scary Sad, Man-O-Steel, She's My Ex, and of course the epic CARNAGE!!! This album is very emotional, melodic, and definately my favorite Scott Reynolds release.
This is definately in one of the top ALL/Descendents releases.

Cmon how can you not love this album. Sure I'm a bit biased and this was the album the got me into punk music when I was 14 (17 years ago). But if you're a musican or audiophile, just listen to the musicianship such as the bass line in scary sad things... it's unbelievable. And the scope of this album... it runs from playful to serious to silly to just awesome. I don't agree with the reviewers that compare this band to greenday. It's like comparing the grateful dead to bob dylan. It's just different. These guys deserve more recognition than they got. Especially Bill Stevenson and Scott Reynolds.

Arguably one of their greatest to date. Addicted to it the first listen. Great classic songs and ALL melodies, a must have!

I loved this album in high school, and I still get the same thrill every time I put it on. I was a Descendents fan, but this is somehow even better. Scott Reynolds was the best of the many lead singers for All for no other reason than he just fit, you know? A few years ahead of their time, as proven by the success of Green Day et al. A perfect album for a sunny day in the car remembering times gone by. She's my Ex and Mary are the standouts, but the whole album is terrific.

This is by far the best All album ever made in my opinion. Songs like Mary and Carnage make me nostalgic. This album as well as their others got me through all the crap I had to go through in my 20s, and now that I am 30 (oops, did I say that?) I still enjoy it as if I was in my youth. Music keeps us young, and thank you All for being a party to that. !!!

this is ALL's best album of them all. consistently great,heartfelt,and fun at the same time. "she's my ex" should go on ever break up mix tape ever made.MARY,FOOL,SCARY SAD and HOT ROD LINCOLN are the best of the lot.If you like ALL look for their new "Greatest hits" CD on their own label out now.
