The mouse pad is bigger than I had expected, plenty of room.
The wrist guard is comfortable. ----EDIT---- I bought this mouse pad on December 25, 2007 and I am still using to this day November 9, 2008. Going on one year of extreme every day use and it is still in great condition. The only wear is the ALLSOP printing on the mousing surface is faded and there is a slight dip on the wrist guard where I rest my wrist, actually is more comfortable now than it was new. I just had to update my comment about the pad, I've had several $30-$50 gamer/precise mouse pads and they always start come apart after a few months of heavy every day use....but after 11 months of heavy everyday use I still have no plans to replace this pad! Not sure on todays price but I bought this one for $6.99, how can you go wrong for that price? On my next Amazon order I will be getting one of these for every computer I use, home and office.

great surface, bad wrist pad,

I was hoping that, despite reading a few less than glowing reviews, I would be able to rave about this mousepad. Unfortunately not the case. I have been without a mouse pad for awhile and wanted something comfy for my wrist. I picked this one and got it and it felt great...for about 3 days. Now there is a huge indentation in the wrist gel (I've had it for maybe 2 weeks if that) and my wrist sits on the hard portion underneath. I will be looking for a better pad with more wrist protection and I will be heading the reviews on the next one...I gave it two stars because the actual mouse pad space for moving the mouse is perfect, not too big, not too small.

This pad took care of my carpal tunnel syndrome pain. I bought a white thin mouse pad to put over the mouse area so my wireless mouse would work better.

Not Really,
This review is from: Allsop 28465 Mouse Pad Pro Memory Foam Mouse Pad (Black) (Personal Computers)
I've been using this product for about a year and honestly, I'm disappointed. The memory foam wrist cushion feels nice at first, but it compresses over time and eventually you're resting your hand on a solid rock. I use my mouse a lot, mostly for gaming, and I've been experiencing a lot of pain in my hand, partly due to the constant pressure on the heel of my hand from this mouse pad.

I'm giving this a 5/5, but I'm not implying that it's for everybody. It is a bit small, and you might have to increase your mouse sensitivity because of it, and that may be a problem if you like the low mouse sensitivity. So if you're doing computer graphics or you're a hardcore video gamer, then maybe this isn't the right mousepad for you.
If you're like me and don't mind the loss of accuracy, then I don't see how you could go wrong with this. I like how it's so small, it gives me room for the rest of my stuff.

Best purchase yet!,

Talk about comfort, I think this is the best purchase I have made for my computer system so far. No more sore or tight wrist, the wrist rest makes all of the difference. Thank You Amazon.com!

For a small person with small hands, I find this wrist pad too high and too hard. From other reviews, it sounds like it does soften slightly with use. I think the issue is with the memory foam...it needs some breaking in. A soft gel pad would probably be better for me.
--------------------- I examined the pad closely, and could feel this extra hard layer underneath the foam. I decided to do some surgery on it, and cut it open at the seam, and was able to cut/rip out the 1/4 inch think layer. I then glued the pad back together. It is now BEAUTIFUL! Removing that layer made all the difference for me. So the pad does not look quite as pretty, and it is a little bit of work, but who cares. I am now very happy with it.

i don't know why this pad has gotten such a high rating. in my opinion, it's kind of cheap but i guess that's why it was $6.99. it will do the job but had i spent a little more money i would have ended up with a wrist pad that was better quality.
when i'm resting my wrist for awhile, the pad squish's down and it no longer feels good or soft. but my lazer mouse tracks just fine on the pad. it does the job of functioning as a mouse pad but the wrist rest is not the best. so if you're doing a lot of hours on your computer, i'd search for another brand or model.

Provides little support...,

I am disappointed with this product. I work on a computer all day and this product worked great for about a week, but then the gel in the wrist pad started getting soft. Now my wrist sinks into the middle of the pad as the gel moves to the side providing little support. I would not recommend this product for anyone who spends a lot of time at their computer.
