Excellent and Strong,

This is an excellent laptop stand. I currently am supporting my 8lb hp 17" laptop with it and the space underneath and airflow around it is great. It's extremely sturdy, which is what I was looking for. Quality product for the price!

I was looking for a heavy, sturdy, and adjustable stand to hold my laptop. This stand qualified on all fronts and I think it's a great product. I didn't want some cheap plastic stand that would slide around if you bumped into it. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a nice notebook stand.

Rating: 3 stars for ease of setup and ease at which you can set up the angle ot the stand.1 star for stability as it doesn't support a 17" laptop very well. Also, doesn't support ANY laptop without a totally flat and square from edge!!! Tried it on a brand new Toshiba, HP and ASUS. Keeps sliding off the front of the stand. I shouldn't be looking to rivot on a piece of angle iron (aluminum) to modify the structure of the stand as to keep my laptop from sliding into my lap everytime I accidentally nudge my desk. Over all rating: 2.5 stars. A good concept. Strong, but has shortcoming in design. I own a Dell Inspiron 9300 17" laptop (4 years old) and find that, while this product does exactly what I want (frees up desktop space and moves my laptop monitor up to a more convenient level) it does contain a serious flaw that should be taken into consideration before purchasing it. If your laptop doesn't have a perfectly square from edge then this product probably won't hold your laptop in place. Many Dell laptops have a front edge that is somewhat curved. To be more descriptive, at the front edge of the laptop (toward the user) the top portion of the laptop (keyboard area and adjoining top shell) joins the bottom portion (the portion of the laptop that comes into contact with the desk and has access to components suck as memory cards, HDD, etc) of the laptop to form somewhat of a pointed edge. They do not join to form a perfect right angle or flat surface as some do (picture the boxy look of a ThinkPad).... The ALLSOP laptop stand has a metal edge in the front to support the laptop and keep it from sliding off when the stand is angled up. Well the pointed or curved front edge of my Dell doesn't allow for enough contact with the front edge of the stand to keep it from sliding off and into your lap. Now. This is the sturdiest stand I have found so I'm off to Home Depot for a piece of angle aluminum to attach to the front of the laptop stand so that I have enough surface contact with the front of my laptop to keep it from sliding off the laptop stand and into my lap. Until then, I am walking on eggshells trying not to bump my desk as to avoid my laptop being just that, in my lap. Pros: Sturdy, will support a heavy 17" laptop. Good angle adjustments. I like the ratchet design used to hold the stand at the desired angle. I was expecting some form of wing-nut tightening device. Cons: If your laptop doesn't have a completely square from edge surface, expect the machine to slid off the stand into you lap everytime you lightly bump you desk. I work in desktop support and can say that 80% of the laptops I see on a daily basis have the rounded front edge that will make this laptop stand difficult if not impossible to safely use. The manufacturer needs to go back to the drawing board and either make the front edge of the stand a bit bigger or adjustable in height as to meet the needs of laptop without a totally flat front edge.
