5.0 out of 5 stars Rock Solid
It took me quite a while to go through all of the stands listed here. 3.0 out of 5 stars Inexpensive Caddy
Pros:
*Inexpensive
*Easy to put together

Cons:
*When being rolled, the CPU case still tends to slip inside the caddy, even with the rubber inserts provided.
*The photo gives an impression that the caddy is silver/chrome, or shiny, at least -- when, in fact, it has a dull, greenish color (but it's under my desk; so, who cares?).

It took me quite a while to go through all of the stands listed here. I finally picked this one because it was metal, which meant it wasn't going to be flimsy; it was fully adjustable so it would fit my case snuggly enough to have a good grip; and it looked like it was wide enough to not be tippy. There are many comments for this stand that talked about the wingnuts not threading on easily. The problem is that the manufacturer paints the parts with the bolts in place, and the paint gets on the threads. There is really nothing wrong with the threading itself. Two of the four of mine went on just fine while the other two were a tight fit. It was a simple matter of gripping the wingnut with a pair of pliers and screwing the nuts on until they get really tight then backing them off a bit to clear the threads then screwing it back down again. Repeat this until you get them all the way down. It really wasn't a big deal. That aside, it works great, holds my case well, and rolls easily even on my carpet. I'd definately recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reclaimed some desk space, February 8, 2007
This review is from: Allsop Metal Art CPU Caddy (27761) (Personal Computers)
I have a Dell XPS tower that takes up loads of desk space. I wanted to place it on the floor but was afraid the case would be full of cat hair and dust in weeks. This cart solves my problem perfectly as it raises the case about 3' off the floor and allows me to easily slide the computer out of the way. And the casters allow me to easily swivel the case when I need to access the connections on the back.

1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE: Computer slides right out the back of this holder., February 13, 2009
This review is from: Allsop Metal Art CPU Caddy (27761) (Personal Computers)
Reasons this doesn't work:
1. The holder is too small in length. You have to center the CPU in it and it doesn't stay centered because when you try to move the unit the CPU slides. If you have a small CPU it may be okay..but I bet it will still slide. There is nothing 'holding' the CPU in. Don't be fooled by thinking it will 'clamp' onto the CPU. It doesn't and if it is done too tight...when it slides it will scratch the CPU.
2. The CPU when moved slides out the back. Not a good thing to have your system slide out and tilt..this may cause damage.
3. Of the 8 wingnuts that came with it only 2 actually fit completely on. The others were manufactured with defects. I guess no one tests that part of the product before shipping. I needed to purchase my own.
4. I am now looking for another one and feel I wasted [...] on this item.

4.0 out of 5 stars pc caddy does the job, May 6, 2007

i wanted a caddy to make my pc wiring more accessible, and i wanted it as sleek as possible, so as not to destroy the aesthetic of my workspace. the allsop did the trick. it's easy to assemble & lightweight too! my one complaint (a tiny one at that) is that the caddy in the photo appears to be brushed chrome, while mine is closer to filing cabinet grey-brown. all in all though, a great item.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality in Wing Nuts, June 23, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Allsop Metal Art CPU Caddy (27761) (Personal Computers)
I bought three of these nifty looking items and they should have worked well except that some of the wing nuts in each package would not screw on past the second rotation. Made it impossible to attached the wheels securely. I had to go to the hardware store only to discover that the threading in the items was not permitting the wind nuts to screw on fully. I bough several washers and hex nuts and managed to get the job done. Pity. The product is otherwise well make and looks fine and hold the computers well. Not suitable for newer, narrow slim profile desk tops as the minimum width is too wide to hold them surely.

1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy, worthless, November 5, 2009

This stand is quite a bit smaller than I'd imagined, and the metal is quite thin. I was expecting something more industrial strength, given its appearance. When assembling the stand, one of the screws would not go in all the way. I forced the nut and ended up punching a hole through the metal. One of the clamps was now loose and hanging, and the stand was no longer mobile. I might as well stack the CPU on a couple of phone books. It went straight in the garbage - not worth the effort to return to Amazon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superior Product!, October 22, 2010

After years of putting off purchasing a caddy I finally spent a few hours searching. I spent some time reading the reviews here on Amazon and decided on the Allsop. I like the design and it look sturdy and easy to use.

It was simple to put together, it very well made and once the CPU it on it and rolled under the desk you can't even see it. It is now so much easier to roll it in and out for cleaning or if a cord needs to be moved.

Should have done this years ago.

I will recommend this product to family and friends. Glad I purchased this.

First of all, kudos to Amazon - I purchased this less than 24 hours ago and it just arrived. Took about 3 mins to put together, and now I can easily roll my desktop out from under the desk to access the USB ports that are on the back side of the desktop. I'm rolling on burber carpet with no problems. The price on this, something like $16, cannot be beat. I'm a very happy customer right now.

I made some research and found some expensive items that do the same job. I thought this was too cheap and probably would break soon. I was surprised about the quality, the item is well built, and does the job well. I would buy again. I highly recommend this.
