Product Description

From the manufacturer

So, here’s the thing about monitor stands. Since desks have been in use for, oh I don’t know, a few thousand years and home computers have been around for about 30, most desks are not designed with computers in mind. So, if your keyboard and monitor are at the same level, you’ve got one of the old-school versions.

See, what you really want is your monitor lifted up a bit, right about at eye level. This’ll keep you more upright and help prevent all of those neck kinks. For those in the know, it’s all about ergonomics. But keep in mind you don’t have to sacrifice for comfort. You can get the ergonomics and still have a piece that looks good on your desk.

The Redmond Monitor Stand is designed to look like it came with your computer. A glance down the computer aisle is enough to show you that computers are going black, gray and silver. And the look of the Redmond Monitor Stand follows suit. The chrome-like base gives a high-tech look. The dark santoprene-coated shelf has a little grip to keep your flat-screen monitor secure. There are hi-tech benefits like a grate design that dissipates heat, and lo-tech favorites like the pen tray. Ergonomics, convenience and good looks.

3.0 out of 5 stars Wobbly but strong, June 14, 2007

I got this for my 22" flat panel. The shape of the legs gives you some nice storage space under, but also make this thing pretty bouncy. Any time you touch it, it takes about 30 seconds to stop bouncing. I pushed on it pretty hard and it does seem plenty strong, but it sure does bounce a lot. Even with me pushing on it pretty hard, it never seemed like it would bounce my monitor off though. Also, it does tend to lean toward the front slightly when you put weight on it, so this one is not for you if your monitor does not have a tilt adjustment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stack 2 Laptops on top of each other, September 5, 2007

I bought this so that I could put one laptop on the bottom and one on the top and use one monitor/keyboard/mouse between them. the size is PERFECT. Both laptops fit perfectly under and above and my desk is very much uncluttered now with the computers all on one spot instead of in two spots on my desk. I know that this is not what the product was intended for, but for this use it is very sturdy, the size and the price are great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good quality monitor stand...but..., March 3, 2008

My only complaint...any movement of your desk, even as small as leaning against it, will cause the stand to bounce up and down. Not enough that the monitor is in jeopardy...but noticeable nonetheless. Not sure what they gained by not putting support in the back of the stand as well as the front.
