Again as we all know, this is one of the last of the real Hammiond B-3 maestro's who really cooked with B3 gas, in the realm of Smith, McDuff, etc., and this particular release gives for instance, fans the chance at the longer 'More Today Than Yesterday' classic. That alone makes it worth the price of admission, the rest of the record is very, very good as well although not the Burner's best. I do recommend this if for not alone, that classic elongated version of 'More Today Than Yesterday'. One other note; when I refer to the 'maestros' I mean the real, original B3 burners who kicked base and had the leslies in full throttle, a sound that has never been equalled in my humble opinion.

Man, this cd is good. I did a jazz show on a local radio station and got loads of cds in for review and this stood out immediately. It is a bit boppy, but transcends that tag. All in all, it's a fun album that grooves. Once you hear it, you'll understand the nickname - Charles Earland blazes.
