If you have read any of the other books by Chris Stewart, this one is just as good. He has a very witty and descriptive style. My husband and I have both spent time in Spain and we love reading about this British ex-pat's adventures living in Spain. If you're looking for some entertaining non fiction, this could be for you.

I don't know why it took me so long to get round to reading the Almond Blossom Appreciation Society - in my view, this is the best book in the series.As a writer who lives a scant hour away from Chris Stewart's place in Las Alpujarras, I love the way he describes the society in which we live. His stories are very true to life and are so well-written it is easy to become lost in these beautiful mountains until you've somehow read the whole book in one go. I loved it and would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in upping sticks and relocating in this area. |
