Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
For a book written in 1971, this novel holds up pretty well. Disgruntled Air Force pilots hijack a C-130 carrying tactical nukes and the rest of the book is where the US trys to track them down. Interesting Washington policial power plays (if it succeeds I get credit, if it fails you get the blame [what else is new?]) where agencies jocky for position.

Interracial relations get a good shake in this book. Remember that in 1971, race relations was still working its way into our culture and this book has numerous "N" word references. Don't let that distract from the relevant plot. Its like the F-104 and F-102 Air Force fighters doing workhorse roles....common in that time and retired since then.

Techincally accurate, roller coaster sequence of events. Good and fun book to read.
