4.0 out of 5 stars A very nice story, November 6, 2006
This review is from: Almost Paradise (Silhouette Romance # 579) (Paperback)
Almost Paradise is supposed to be an updated take on the Snow White fairytale, however just about the only resemblance to the original is the woodsy setting and that Sherry is a counselor for seven young campers. As a parent who is concerned about the intense pressure inflicted on today's young children to achieve academically, as well as concerned about after-school and weekends being scheduled to the brim with various lessons and activities, it was refreshing to read about a teacher/counselor who breaks this mold and encourages kids to use their imagination and inner creativity to entertain themselves. This children learn valuable lessons about life in the process that cannot be learned in textbooks or other acadmeic pursuits. This story wasn't heavily romantic, and that love devloped between the two characters wasn't very convincing, however the teacher/student relationships were very well presented.
