3 of 3 people found the following review helpful By Paolo Paravicini on October 8, 2013
Format: Paperback
This is a "must have" collection of poems penned by one of the greatest living poets writing in the English language. Perchik is a master in combining density, abstraction and powerful imagery, taking the reader to places deep within the unconscious, and exposing that reader to revelations and truths most often fully appreciated only after each poem has been read and given time to be absorbed. That is not to say, however, that the reader will not be deeply impacted while reading the poem -- such is the skill with which Perchik leads the reader through his unique emotional labyrinth. The grist for his poetic mill -- life, death, love, the natural world -- while found in probably all poetry of any worth, is nonetheless treated by Perchik in a cascade of raw emotion and eeriness which makes the reader's journey through his poetry truly special.

Simon Perchik is a visionary poet. There are only a handful of those poets around, most have passed on. Perchik has a way of getting deep underneath the truths of the universe, exposing its humble beginnings and endings. His lines are perfect. His poems make me tremble, that's how much beauty he brings to the page.

Powerful poetry! Perchik's imagery captivated my imagination and inspired my own poetry. I hope to read more of his works.
