Citric acid is made from corn these days and contains a large amount of MSG!!!
Xanthum Gum is a neurotoxin much like MSG, Aspartame, etc.
It might not get you now but because MSG & Xanthum Gum penetrate the blood barrier around the brain they can cause big trouble later:
i.e. - heart disease, high blood pressure, colon & bowel issues and much more.

All in all, very good value for the money.

NOTE - item must be refrigerated after opening.

The product contains POTASSIUM SORBATE which is a food preservative with antimicrobial properties - it is used primarily to prevent mold, fungi, etc.

As a preservative, they could have used the more natural "a-tocopherol" (i.e., Vit E). To their credit, they do add ascorbic acid (i.e. Vit C) to this product.

The product also contains another chemical additive, CITRIC ACID (not to be confused with ascorbic acid or Vit C), a preservative/conservative, used primarily to enhance flavor and/or color.

Xanthan (a natural product) is a thickener - a good idea.

Product can be taken internally or applied directly to clean skin. Consult with your physician before taking internally and/or applying topically over broken skin for prolonged periods.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great way to save money on aloe, April 18, 2010
I have been using my gallon for about 3 weeks now and the whole family is happy with it. It has a very nice scent and is nice for helping scratches and small cuts on the hand to heal. I save a lot of money by refilling my hand cream bottles in each bathroom with this.

it is especially helpful when the heater is running a lot in the cold weather.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, inside and out!, May 10, 2009

I use this product every day. It is an effective tonic for sensitive skin. I use it on myself after bathing--just slather it on. Mixed with a little tea tree oil, it takes care of rashes that my dog develops from time to time. I also drink a couple of ounces every morning to stabilize digestion. The dogs get a dose in their food, as well. Great stuff!

I just received this gel a little over a week ago and for some reason I
started getting itchy skin and scalp with eczema since the weather changed.

I just used some on my scalp and skin and it stop the itching automatically.
I will definitely purchase again. Doesn't taste bad either I mixed with
some aloe fruit juice. I think for 2011 I will replace soda with this Aloe
Vera Gel in addition to more water for a more healthy me in 2011.

So far this aloe works extremely well. I actually use it because I have roseasa. The pure aloe reduces the redness and inflammation so that I don't have to use any foreign chemicals on my face. It also works great for razor burn and sunburn! The only slight draw back is that it isn't quite as "gel based" as I had hoped and you have to refrigerate. However, those are small prices to pay for the fantastic benefits of the product!
