Fresh voices, a great listen, November 6, 2004

I bought this cd while in Maui, upon a recommendation from the owner of the Hasagawa General store. I was a little suspicious because he said the artist was young (17 or so?) and that he sang at the owner's wedding.
This cd is fantastic and I continue to enjoy it thoroughly. It's on regular rotation in my cd player. It is a clean, fun and upbeat rendition of traditional Hawaiian music. I like Iz's music also, but I feel this cd is simply more fun to listen to; I'm not much into contemporary or "pop" hawaiian that sounds synthesized. The voices and arrangements are lyrical and breezy and the sweet yodeling is like a mental vacation to the islands. It's great music for sunny weekends, after work and for chilling out during long drives. "Nani" is beautifully sung - clean, sweet and one of my favorite songs on the cd. I hope he puts out another soon!!
