5.0 out of 5 stars The CD is a good buy definitely worth buying Import
The only rap is in the last bonus track, a 17 minute mega-mixof some Modern Talking songs. If they didn't include the bonus trackthen there would be no rap. The rap is done by Eric Singleton the DJ. This bonus track mega-mix is so dope, it adds a little hip hop flavor and blends in euro-dance music so well. With the mix the whole CD comes to a whopping 77 minutes. All the...

This bonus track mega-mix is so dope, it adds a little hip hop flavor and blends in euro-dance music so well. With the mix the whole CD comes to a whopping 77 minutes. All the fast dance songs are really good such as tracks #1,2,3,5,7,10,15,and 16. The other ones are more slow and melodic but they're still pretty good. There's only a few throw-a-way songs. Overall, the CD is definitely a good buy, you should buy this CD if you are a Modern Talking fan or have a good appreciation for euro-dance music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent production values helps make this a winner, May 6, 1999

It's a dance-pop album. Don't expect anything more, but it's so well done. Excellent production values and vocals help to create an energetic, but smooth sound. Lyrics, as usual, are the weak point, yet they aren't intrusive; at worst naive, and at best simple and sweet. What do you expect for a pop album? The usual strengths of this group -- melody and vocals -- completely overpower any defects. Most of the songs are strong, if not overly innovative. The ballads, strangely, are not as effective as in the past, but they are well produced. Actually, I find this album has more variety and strength than the Cher's "Believe." Good effort all around.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best album yet!, April 12, 2000

Their new 1999 solid album was a huge hit! After listening to "Alone", I never knew Modern Talking would create such a wonderful hit album. Not only are the music still the same, they took the new sound of the 90s and colided with their new songs. This outcome is a major success! All songs are incredibly fresh, "You are Not Alone", "Sexy Sexy Lover", "Taxi Girl" are all upbeat hits. It's so good that they are back and are at no.1 once again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easily in my top 5 albums EVER!, April 25, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Alone - The 8th Album (Audio CD)
I am a HUGE Modern Talking fan. I stumbled upon them after the 1999 World Music Awards when I couldn't get enough of "You're My Heart.." I HAD to know who they were! And I wasn't disappointed!
It is a shame that the US in general has no idea who Modern Talking is, none of my friends know who they are :(

I accidently ordered this CD by mistake, believing for some reason that this cd had "You're My Heart, You're My Soul" (which it didn't for sure! duh!) but I was PLEASANTLY surprised at this album-it was nothing that I had heard a likeness to before. Honestly, after following MT for 4 yrs, I think this is one of the best albums that they have put out. It is fresh sounding, but very euro at the same time! Of course, their early stuff was very classic (Brother Louie, You're..., Arabian Gold, In 100 Years) but this collection of songs is just so pretty!

FAVORITE SONGS ON THIS CD: Hmm..this is difficult. I really really enjoy the "space mix" at the end of the album, a 17 minute cut of MT's loved songs, definitely fun! My favorite songs on this album are probably "You are not Alone" and "Sexy Sexy Lover"-just classic MT songs..fabulous beats. Close seconds/thirds is "love is like a rainbow" which Thomas Anders co-wrote. It is very pretty!
This cd would be PERFECT for a dinner party. Very classy, yet still fun, I give this cd an A+ and HOOKED me on MT for life!

This is the best album from this group. There's only three songs from this album that I dislike. This guy have an amazing voice. He can sing better than some of the American artists here in the United States.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a MASTERPIECE on today's Pop music arena!, April 18, 1999

Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders went to studio with briliant idea of combining old Modern Talking formula with today's up-to-date sound base. The outcome of this experiment is just briliant. "You are not alone", "Sexy Lover" and many more are typical Modern Talking song but THEY ARE BETTER THAN EVER! Two guys showed us the more variety on this album than on previuos productions. It's worth to mention here that unlike previuous album this one is a cooperation of two musicians - means Thomas Anders is contributing to this album from his own - beutiful! This album is just must to buy for every Euro-POP-Dance fan. As of this day Modern Talking is no.9 on the CNN's top 30 Worldbeat - and has scored many 1s places around the world. Dieter Bohlen and Thomas Anders are back again and they are on top! MODERN TALKING RULES!

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, Colorful, Romantic and Fun!, May 20, 2005

"You are not alone" had me from the very start. Brilliant, dynamic sound. A wonderful melody carried on hands by powerful rhythms. And what a unique voice - this guy could sing me Brazilian telephone books from A-Z.
For "I can't give you more", only the word "bright" comes to mind. This song just makes you feel good. Hear it loud - and dance!
"Don't let me go" rolls in like a flying steam train. Whow!
"I'm so much in love" is cute and touching. Makes you wanna sing along.
"Rouge et Noir" - he could also sing French phone books, I would be glued to the loudspeakers.

Generally, the ballads are easy listening, feel good and romantic.
While up-tempo tracks on earlier, also brilliant albums have been more sentimental, the ones on "ALONE" deliver a much more positive and powerful feeling. Listen loud, and dance!

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS CD IS GREAT! TOTALLY FAB!, March 15, 2002

Modern Talking is like nothing we have in the US! They have such a recognizable sound and every song I hear is great!
I heard modern talking on the World Music awards in 99 and ever since I have loved them! I love eurodance!
I accidently bought this cd, I was trying to buy Back for Good which has "Your my Heart, Your my Soul" on it, and at first I was disappointed that I ordered the wrong cd.. NOT ANYMORE!
This cd has everything.. slow and romantic and more danceable tracks! My favorite song on this cd is well. ... many of them , but I love "Sexy Sexy Lover" and "You are not Alone".
Modern Talking is back for good no doubt!
