5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome selection of bands
Wow, this soundtrack has one of the best metal bands selection I've ever see. Maybe not all of them with their best songs, but overall they're all great.

So-called chaos said "Horribly cliché-like with tons of poser punk pop bands" ??? an Evanescence and Avril Lavigne fan...and he confuse metal with pop punk...OMG...uttermost ignorance...

3.0 out of 5 stars Go out and buy the albums, they hold the better songs.
I will give this three stars, only because it has some good songs, from some good bands. My question is this: Why buy a Fear Factory song along with a Nighwish song, along with a bunch of random Metalcore. this set is only for people who own almost zero Heavy Metal, because what bands aren't represented? At least the Resident Evil soundtrack has a bit more interesting...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Metal soundtrack, March 6, 2005
This review is from: Alone in the Dark (Audio CD)
I like this soundtrack. It's got alot of cool metal bands on it. I normally don't buy soundtracks, but this is an exception. Plus, unlike most soundtracks. This is long. You get two cd's of metal. About twenty or so tracks. It's a great buy. I gave this cd four stars. Just because I don't like all the bands on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soundtrack better than the movie, July 12, 2005
This review is from: Alone in the Dark (Audio CD)
The soundtrack has some wicked hard gems you just don't find every where! in fact, the sountrack is ALOT better than the movie!
if you enjoy metal you should enjoy this! (as a side note...if you enjoyed arena rock back in the mid eighties you might enjoy this too!) this has some good lyrical metal, not just growling and definitely not just one/two chords! Fun for driving!

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Stars just for Fear Factory...., April 29, 2005

Fear Factory's Cyberwaste, Chimaira's Down Again, God Forbid's Gone Forever, Arch Enemy, Shadows Fall, Strapping Yound Lad, Mastodon? All for 17 bucks? If you are a metal fan, buy this soundtrack. Do yourself a favor. And as for being horribly cliche, Chaos, you need to listen instead of assuming.....

I will give this three stars, only because it has some good songs, from some good bands. My question is this: Why buy a Fear Factory song along with a Nighwish song, along with a bunch of random Metalcore. this set is only for people who own almost zero Heavy Metal, because what bands aren't represented? At least the Resident Evil soundtrack has a bit more interesting variety. Don't waste your money on this if you are really into Heavy Metal. Listen to it in the store, and buy from the bands that you like that are on the compilation. It's a great way to discourage you from illegally downloading. As for the bands that are good on the sountrack, try anything on an album by Fear Factory, Dark Tranquillity, Arch Enemy, or Nightwish for starters. Nightwish still seems out of place on this album, doesn't it? Also, the bands that are represented on these two discs feature songs that are not their greatest on their respective albums. So, skip this compilation unless you can't afford a collection of Heavy Metal, whatever the size.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Soundtrack Ever made.., May 18, 2005
This review is from: Alone in the Dark (Audio CD)
Metal, Metal, METAL!!! Thats the way only way I will ever buy a soundtrack from a movie. And the bonus is that there are no emo/screamo/punk/mainstream sh*t on it that really only use 1 or 2 chords on this soundtrack...GET THIS SOUNDTRACK!!!!!!!!!!!
To say that these bands on this soundtrack only use 1 or 2 chords, proves only one thing...Your an uneducated adolesent moron who has a taste for talentless shi*t bands...

1.0 out of 5 stars Just like the movie..., March 2, 2005
This review is from: Alone in the Dark (Audio CD)
...Really, really dissapointing. Horribly cliché-like with tons of poser punk pop bands that belt out a tune with two chords only. It's noise for nothing, and it sucks.

Huskily one-note. Eeew.
