I first watched this show with a bunch of friends when it originally aired. I must say that it is a classic. No other comedian has the timing that Garry Shandling does. Most people only know him from The Larry Sanders Show, and that's a shame, because I put him up there with the kings of stand-up comedy. I happen to think the taped segments are quite funny. Especially because he's always making references to his girlfriend Patty whom stayed in Los Angeles, instead of traveling to Vegas with Garry. There's one scene when he talks to the camera and says he's getting lonely and even though it's late he's going to call Patty back in LA.

[Calls Patty's house and the only one you can hear is Garry] Hello Patty?
Oh! Hi Dave! Dave is Patty there?
Oh she's sleeping? Where? Oh right beside you?
No Dave, don't wake her.

It's this type of humor that Garry Shandling excels at. One thing that is so surprising (considering the language on Larry Sanders) is how clean this comedy show is. When Garry finally gets on stage that's when this show shoots into orbit. His observations about dating and marriage will literally have you rolling on the floor. Do yourself a favor if you like stand-up comedy. Buy this NOW!!!

This is Garry at his finest. This video is sure to keep your interest. If you are a true Garry fan, then this video is for you.

GARRY MADE ME PEE MY PANTS. HE'S THAT GOOD. UNFORTUNATELY, THE BOOKENDED PRE-FILMED SEGMENTS ARE SOMEWHAT CLUMSY AND UNFUNNY.

IT'S WORTH IT JUST FOR THE SHOTS OF THE 1984 VEGAS FREAK SHOW THAT IS THE AUDIENCE.
