4.0 out of 5 stars NINE Remixes!, June 11, 2003

This review is from: Alone (Audio CD)
Almost a year later than every other country, the USA finally receives a CD-Maxi for Lasgo's awesome song "Alone". But in my opinion, "Alone" surpasses "Something" with ease. This track is even more catchy than Something and has a better melody. Listening to Evi sing "Now I stand here alone in the dark ... without you" has got to make you dance. A perfect track for the dance floor (whether that dance floor is in a club, a party or just the open space in your bedroom). A big thumbs up for Lasgo so far: there are already two 'must-have' singles on the album "Some Things"!

~Tracklisting
01 Radio Mix
02 LMC Radio Mix
03 Original Extended Mix
04 Ian Van Dahl Remix
05 Peter Luts Remix
06 Hiver & Hammer Remix
07 DJ Shog Remix
08 Hiver & Hammer Ground Control Mix
09 LMC Extended

And while this awesome CD-Maxi has 9 mixes of Alone it does not have all of them... As the Aussie version includes remixes by Blizzard Bros and KCB as well as the video (the fact that this CD Maxi doesn't include these, makes the rating lose a star).

After picking up the 12" vinyl single of this song by Lasgo, I realized I need the Cd single if only for the 'radio mix' which is 4:00 minutes long. Sometimes Its great listening to 'Alone' as a shortened song once in a while. This cd single has many remixes both long and short! Nice cover by the way,

5.0 out of 5 stars Alone is surely something..., July 13, 2003
This review is from: Alone (Audio CD)
Lasgo's new single Alone is similar to Something, but they aren't blatant ripoffs! Anyway, America was way overdue in the release of this song (a year late). However, the US release gets most of the remixes available (which leads to a nine track maxi), and a few exclusive remixes! All awesome remixes, the favourite among most (including myself) being the Ian Van Dahl Remix!

Overall, Robbins Ent. just keeps pumping great hits out! Ian Van Dahl, Lasgo, and DJ Sammy are the most popular dance acts in the US currently.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT DANCE SONG!, September 8, 2009
By
This review is from: Alone (Audio CD)
This is one of my top LASGO songs! I never get bored with this song. LASGO is the ONLY dance, trance, techno, or whatever you categorize the music, that I can listen to. I'm into Satriani, Eric Johnson, Journey, Santana, Eagles, Van Halen, Dokken, kind of guy. I just discovered LASGO, and I was blown away at how good and varied their music is compared to the other artists (which I find to be too monotonous and lacking in melody and lyrics). Of course, Evi's voice is the best! There's a unique seductive, and playful sound in her voice...and of course, super sexy. I've listened (really tried) to artists like Ian Van Dahl, but they sound too in your face one hit wonders. it's hard to describe LASGO fully, but it's mainly the perfect blend of great synth melodies, lyrics, and great voice. Nothing overwhelms the other aspects of the song! I like almost all of their tracks, which no other band even can come close! I also think that they have so much emotion and creativity in their music writing. The music makes sense in that I know the beginning, middle, and end. With other bands, I wouldn't know because it's just mindless sounds that is pointless. Anyway, it's sad that the band no longer includes Evi, and she sang on only 2 or 3 albums. People who don't like LASGO are just listening to anything that's new, not understanding the creativity and magic of the song. They are more into mindless noise at loud volumes. LASGO is a RARE gem that can be appreciated over and over...very good on the ears! The more I listen to LASGO (with Evi), the more I like the songs! Listen to it for a week, and you won't regret it!!!
