Seeing Ms. Hamlin live in concert is an acoustic experience you will never forget: few singers today have the kind of soulful voice that reaches in and sweeps your heart away, and hers will. If, however, you aren't lucky enough to see her in concert, this CD is a close second. While there are a few truly pulse-stopping songs ("Hollow" being one of them) and moments in every tune where her talent shines, this album will hopefully be known one day as a sample of her "early work." Her lyrics can be sophomoric, but her songwriting skills are already showing improvement in more recent songs. That said, if you like acoustic guitar music, original harmonica riffs, and a profoundly gorgeous voice, this is a worthwhile investment.

Trina Hamlin's Alone is an excellent example of an artist who puts her whole heart into her work. She has lyrics that will stir you, a voice that will grab hold of you, and guitar playing that will move you. Alone is an awesome compact disc and Trina is a must see in concert!

Both Trina Hamlin's voice and songs have the ability to make your heart beat fast and give you the goose bumps that only come with the excitment of a truth just learned. She has a very powerful voice and her lyrics carry and equally powerful, and personal message. When the music reaches inside of you, you know then that there is soul behind it.

With a voice that is sure to evoke emotion, Trina Hamlin leads listeners over a roller coaster ride of music. The songs on this album are both strangely exotic and down home favorites! I can't speak well enough about this effort!

I mixed an AGC show at my college and the cd sounds just as good as she did live.

Trina Hamlin is truly the best thing to happen to soul music in ages! As said in previous reviews, seeing Ms. Hamlin in concert is an acoustic thrill ride you'll never forget. And this disc is the next best thing to her live shows. With her combination of perfection in voice, lyrics, guitar, and harmonica (yes, that's her playing in the beginning of the disc), she's a musical force not to be reckoned with!

Trina is everything I want in a singer/songwriter... soulful, emotional voice, truthful lyrics, interesting arrangements. Charming in person, and recorded.
