Kings Legacy Lives On,
By The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Along Martin Luther King: Travels on Black America's Main Street (Hardcover)
ALONG MARTIN LUTHER KING, is an expansion of Tilove's six-week series that was featured in several national newspapers. The book gives readers glimpses into the lives of real people and real situations that occur in the African American community. The tales are so personal that readers will feel as if they know each of the inhabitants. The book also gives commentary on the history, politics, and current issues facing the communities, which adds depth and understanding to their plights. ALONG MARTIN LUTHER KING: TRAVELS ON BLACK AMERICA'S MAIN STREET is a beautiful and educational book that would complement any coffee table collection.Reviewed by Latoya Carter-Qawiyy Complete review can be found on our website...

This review is from: Along Martin Luther King: Travels on Black America's Main Street (Hardcover)
Tilove, along with the wonderful photos, provides a wonderful glimpse into African-American life, minus the stereotypes. He's a wonderful writer, and after reading the book, you feel like you know many of the residents of Martin Luther King streets very personally. Every school library ought to have this book displayed prominantly.
