5.0 out of 5 stars This CD is my drug. It is THE one I choose to decompress.
Of all the mellow, gentle music recorded, this CD is a gift as beautiful as the first ray of light on a perfect day. Well, now that I have everyone's attention.. I would rather have my eyes removed with a steak knife than have to listen to this new age crap. I'm from that barren rats nest Mt. Desert (pronounce it "Mount Dessert" you farmers). God. Why people have to romanticize that place and imbue with some "mystical" qualities is beyond me. All I know is that there are lot of us out...

Of all the mellow, gentle music recorded, this CD is a gift as beautiful as the first ray of light on a perfect day. I first noticed Tim Janis' work live at the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair a few years ago and was caught in my tracks by the soothing, flowing music. I knew that the music would belong to me; I didn't know how the flowing melodies from strings, keyboards and woodwinds would become an addiction for me, how the gentle thump of percussion would become a soothing background to round out the corners in a chaotic life. I play this CD often, and my friends and family all say the same refrain "now, this is nice.. relaxing... soothing... gentle... soft... beautiful...". I am glad that I have found Tim Janis again here at Amazon.com and can add more music from this talented artist to my collection; "Acadia" will always have a special spot in my heart.

4.0 out of 5 stars Marva Jo Thomas, May 31, 2003

While this CD isn't quite as good as A Thousand Summers, it is none the less wonderful. I had heard the melody The Rushing Wings of Dawn when he appeared on PBS. That's the reason I ordered this CD. Of all the selections on it, that one plus Wind Song are my favorites. I love the hauntingly beautiful sounds that remind me so much of our early Indian heritage. Since my grandmother was Cherokee, I can appreciate that in a very special way. This CD carries me back to a time when our Indian ancestors walked among the virgin forests and left their footprints on the seashore. It's like stepping into another time far away from the hectic stressfilled world we now live in. Give yourself a break. Buy this CD and sit back and enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring me back to Maine!, April 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Along the Shore of Acadia (Audio CD)
Just a quick note to say that I really love this CD. It's my first Tim Janis, but I've liked 'New Age' music for awhile. My other favorites are David Arkenstone and Nightnoise, so if you like those you'll probably like Tim Janis. Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine is one of my top three favorite places in the world, after Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, Canada. The music in this CD really captures the spirit of Acadia. You can almost feel the wind blowing past you, and smell the pine trees and hear the peregrin falcons calling. It's a beautiful relaxing collection that you love.

I got hooked on Tim Janis when my sister sent me "Water's Edge" this past March for my birthday. He IS wonderful!!! The music is flowing, relaxing, and addicting. This CD is a mood-lifter, a stress-reducer, and an attitude-adjuster. If I wrote prescriptions, this CD would be a number 1 seller. I highly recommend adding this to any music collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars An eclectic and harmonious blend of rhythms and instruments, October 9, 1999
By A Customer
No matter who listens - young and old alike- all comment on how beautiful and relaxing, yet uplifting the songs are. With what seems to be a touch of Native American music for backgound harmony and the tempo of Celtic music the songs make you feel like you can run with the wind, soar with the eagles, or relax while listening to the pounding surf against rocks.

4.0 out of 5 stars relaxing & uplifting, July 19, 2000

This review is from: Along the Shore of Acadia (Audio CD)
Believe it or not I heard this music in a mall while working out of the state! It was so pleasant that I had to go over & see who they were. I listened for a bit & couldn't resist purchasing a CD on the spot. I gave that copy to my girlfriend & it is one her favorites now. I'm buying more copies for other family members thru the good folks at Amazon. The music is great as background while you're working because it has a pleasant & uplifting nature. It's relaxing enough to listen to when going to bed, too. Either way you'll really enjoy listening. It's fresh, unpretentious, & just really enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Bit Of Home, August 17, 2003
This review is from: Along the Shore of Acadia (Audio CD)
The album title caught my eye, so I decided to listen to the 30 second bits & am very glad that I did. I am very familiar with Acadia National Park, as I live about an hour away from there & have been there many times & must say it's one of the most beautiful spots I know. This music is lovely & sothing & a bit of home as I am a Mainer & grew up in the same town I live in now. I love New Age music & piano artists such as David Lanz. I will be adding Tim Janis to my collection of music. Beautiful music!

I have probably listened to Along the Shores of Acadia over 100 times. I have never felt the music was stale. The melodies are beautiful and the peacefulness of the music alternates with moments of drama and great emotion. I can't recommend this album highly enough. I have all of Tim Janis' CDs and enjoy them very much.

5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing experience..., April 20, 2001

This review is from: Along the Shore of Acadia (Audio CD)
I had just walked into the Holyoke Mall in Massachusetts when I heard the playing of a violin...having played violin for several years myself, I immediately searched for the artist, and found a small group playing "Wind Song"...I couldn't get my money out fast enough to get a CD, and I'm glad I did! Music this creative and beautiful is rare nowadays, and I'm proud to say I've worn out my first copy and have to buy another...superb!
