These baby soft 100% pure alpaca wool reversible throw blankets are incredibly luxurious to touch. They are top quality and light weight yet very warm blankets that also can be used as throws. This one is a beautiful shade of woven dark purple and cream that is wonderfully soft and cuddly and will make an elegant finishing touch to any well-appointed bed. It is a large approximate 60 inches wide by 86 inches long, which will cover a double or queen size bed, and weighs approximately 26 ounces. Colors may vary slightly from the pictures shown. It was expertly hand woven in Ecuador and our label is attached. Why pay inflated name brand prices? In case you did not know, alpaca is a specialty luxury fiber. More alpaca fiber is produced each year than cashmere or mohair. No other animal produces fiber that has the softness of cashmere, the luster of silk, the lightness of goose feathers, the durability of wool, and the warmth of a cozy fireplace. The alpaca has been domesticated (as versus its kin llama, which is primarily a work animal) and carefully bred for over 5,000 years as a luxury fiber-producing animal. Alpaca wool has been prized for centuries for its incredible combination of softness, lightness, and warmth. Alpaca is best cared for by dry cleaning although light soiling can frequently be removed with water, especially if the stain has not set.
This is quality merchandise at a great price. The only problem is that it is made in and shipped from Ecuador, a small country in South America, so shipping time and if necessary returns are longer than usual. I purchased this because I often get cold at night when working on my laptop and I'd have to drag my blanket out to the living room. It's so soft, warm, comfortable and no itchy at all. My cats love it too. I keep it folded thrown over the side of the coach when I'm not using it and it looks great. I have a $250 alpaca throw from nordstrom and this one really is the same thing but you save because it comes directly from Ecuador. It's fragile but that just the nature of alpaca. My cats pull threads out but its not very noticeable. The reason for 4 stars are the edges, I dont like the contrasting white. I wish the edges were the same color as the blanket. I would also love to see some throws made of the even softer neck hair from the alpaca (I forgot whats its called), that would be great! I will definitely buying more of these for myself and these are great as gifts too.

There is no need to go into many details about this gem. Simply put; it is very soft, comfortable and warm. It is of excellent quality. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the picture shows it as a richer color than it really is, but since it matches the colors in my room very well I cannot complain.

I thought I was ordering from amazon store not an out of the country,country. I was worried when i realized what i had done.
