I purchased this because I often get cold at night when working on my laptop and I'd have to drag my blanket out to the living room. It's so soft, warm, comfortable and no itchy at all. My cats love it too. I keep it folded thrown over the side of the coach when I'm not using it and it looks great. I have a $250 alpaca throw from nordstrom and this one really is the same thing but you save because it comes directly from Ecuador. It's fragile but that just the nature of alpaca. My cats pull threads out but its not very noticeable. The reason for 4 stars are the edges, I dont like the contrasting white. I wish the edges were the same color as the blanket. I would also love to see some throws made of the even softer neck hair from the alpaca (I forgot whats its called), that would be great! I will definitely buying more of these for myself and these are great as gifts too.

There is no need to go into many details about this gem. Simply put; it is very soft, comfortable and warm. It is of excellent quality. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the picture shows it as a richer color than it really is, but since it matches the colors in my room very well I cannot complain.

I thought I was ordering from amazon store not an out of the country,country. I was worried when i realized what i had done.

First off, I'm in love with my Alpaca blanket. I had originally bought this purple one for my mother for Christmas. She already has a hard time staying warm, even more so in the winter, and this is just perfect! I had never had anything made from an Alpaca, and just "stumbled" across this when browsing Amazon for a warm blanket to buy for my mother. Of course I had taken interest in it, especially for this wonderful price! And free shipping! Who could pass this up? After buying my mother one, I decided to splurge and buy me a Muted Blue Earth Tone one. I lucked out because she never thought twice that it might be for her since I told her only one was coming in the mail. ;)
Secondly, I have a hard time keeping myself warm at times. Mainly in the chilly season when I'm in the house. I have to keep a fan going to keep my ears entertained with noise and this blanket is working wonders already! Forget a thermal heat blanket, THIS IS ONE! It's a lot thinner than my own comforter that I've had for years, but it works like a mini toaster oven to keep you nice and warm. It's also nice and soft and just comfy to snuggle with. Even in front of a laptop.
Thirdly, for anyone who starts to complain that it "sheds", of course it does. But that doesn't mean it's a defect. Read up on it or on the seller feedback. They've clearly stated, and I hope this will be alright to quote:
"Sometimes our alpaca blanket throws do shed. After they are handwoven on old fashioned wooden looms they are hand brushed to loosen the weave and make them super soft. Sometimes this loosens or breaks the ends of the alpaca fibers which can then fall off. Any shedding can be easily eliminated by washing or dry cleaning the blanket. This will not affect its softness, warmth or longevity."

See there? Nothing to it, and just follow the instructions on how to care for it and you're good. I'm not the sharpest knife in the kitchen, and even I can do this. Always ask questions before complaining.
So in conclusion, definitely worth getting one. Especially at this price. And, I do love the little handmade fish pin I received as well. I keep that with me on my purse wherever I go. C:

Super warm, super thin, more comfort than you will ever need and beyond divinely soft! This blanket came within 11 days of my order all the way from Equador. You will not be disappointed in this blanket. Lulls you to sleep in a cradling way that will make you think you are 3 years old again. So soft it is difficult to describe, My first blanket made out of Alpaca. At 26 oz. you can pack this almost anywhere and will be so warm you'll likely shed pj's throughout the night. I live in the great Northwest and need something comfy, but, also get too warm easily with traditional down, polyfill, cotton, flannel, and most other blankets. This one keeps me the perfect temp even with the heat turned way down at night. Buy it! you won't be sorry and the sooner you do it the sooner you'll have it. I can't believe I waited a week and a half deciding. Wasted time with my new favorite comfort.

It is very soft and light, I like the color a lot. It came with a letter of thanks and a button size animal, which was cute.

I was very pleased to find that I could order from Amazon a high quality item directly from Equador. The price is great and it is gorgeous and comfy. The throw arrived in about two weeks and I found that totally acceptable given the distance.

The blanket looks like it does in the amazon image. But more importantly, it feels really good. It's very soft and light and yet still warm. Normally wool can be itchy, but the alpaca wool keeps the warmth but feels soft like cotton.
It shipped from Ecuador, but still was delivered in about 2 weeks.
