The Alpatronix iPhone Battery Case is a great solution for charging your iPhone on the go. One of the best parts is that you can activate the case when needed and monitor its charge independently from the phone. I travel quite a bit and always run out of power on long flight, with the battery case you can recharge your phone on the go without an outlet or cigarette lighter. The case is a great value and has a sleek design the feels solid in your hand. In fact on the first day I had the case I dropped my phone and neither the phone or case was damaged. The case does make the phone a bit longer and weigh a little more so I have started using the case as a back up battery. I keep it in my car glove box and put my phone in it when I need an extra charge. Charging the case is easy with the long USB cable that comes with the case. One downfall is that in order to charge the phone the plug on the bottom gets used by the case. That means that in many cases you have to remove the case in order to use your accessories.

I can’t help but wonder where all those raving 5-star reviews are coming from. I based my purchase of this battery case based on a combination of two factors: much lower price than other battery cases I’ve seen people use and large amount of positive reviews (600+ reviews averaging 4 stars). The first case I received lasted one day, then the charging port was pulled out completely out of the case because it got stuck to the charging cable. I thought: ”ok so I got a defective unit, it can happen, it’s probably an exception, look at all those positive reviews” and I ordered a replacement. The replacement didn’t even last one day – it would shut off after 5-10 minutes and not charge the phone even when plugged in and the phone’s battery was at below 50%. Then I did some research and checked the 5-star reviews but clicking on the “See all my reviews” button next to their name. And what do you know! Very many of the very happy reviewers have written only one review for this awesome product only and never a review for anything else! That does not look real. I suspect the marketing company might have hired a local PR company to provide those 5-star reviews in order to boost the sales. But that is only my opinion. I hope the marketing does not catch on to this and provide more reviews for other products to make it look more legit – at this point, to me, it looks somewhat obviously like a scam. I am returning both cases those and advise you to be cautious about this product.

So Far I really do like this case! I love the color, its easy to put on and take off. The instructions on how to take care/use/work this product are very easy to follow and understand. It also arrived a day early! It was scheduled to be delivered to me today, and I got it yesterday afternoon. Now, unfortunately I haven't been able to determine how long it actually takes to charge the case by itself, but I'm using it for the first time today, and so far everything's great! But I believe I will be doing another review for this case later on so I can be able to give a better insight on its quality, but for now I'd give it 5 stars!

Review UPDATE! -July 25, 2013

So today I actually got to try out the case, but in a different way. I wasn't out and about I was/am at home. I let my phone completely die, and then when it turned off I put my phone into the charging case. I put it in the case and turned on the case at 7:46 p.m.

Four minutes later, my phone turned on when it was charged at 4%. By 8:52 p.m. it was 44% and only two of the led indicators were left on.

Now I did start to worry when I noticed two indicators were left and I thought to myself "I don't think its gonna work","I hope it does", and I was just doubting this case for a little while.

By 9:20p.m. my phone was 60% charged with still two led indicators with one of them still barely on and one indicator that was shinning blue led. At 9:45 p.m. my phone lite up, the charger turned off, and my phone was 76% charged. So I'd say this case is a great purchase. It gives you at least 76% of battery, and I read it gives you between 70-80, so I think this case is a great purchase. I approve.

The battery goes from full to empty in like 20 minutes and only charges the phone up about 30% before dying. Awful!

Nice looking but it fell apart in the first two weeks I had to superglue the back metal piece after I returned the first one because of the same problem

This charger case was excellent in the beginning but then I noticed that pictures with the case on were very blurry. I thought my camera might have been dirty but I cleaned it and still were blurry. Once I removed the case my camera was back to normal. If you only take self portraits with the front camera I guess this case is for you.

This iPhone case really helps when I'm low on battery but not close to a plug. Personally, I like to use my iPhone until it is at around 4% so this case really helped me when I was going somewhere but wasn't at 4% and didn't want to charge my phone. The case is very portable and helpful. My only criticism is that when I take pictures with flash on, the flash doesn't really go straight but is reflected off of the sides of the camera hole, making the picture a little foggy. Other than that, I love the case.

:-(

The electronic design is good and it works pretty well, but when the back came off, it exposed the battery as 1420 mAh, not 1900mAh. I really don't like outright lying in specs. It's gone back to Amazon for a refund.

The description says the case it's 1900mAh capacity (same as the internal battery of the iPhone 4s), however the manual says it's only 1500mAh, so you'll get 25% less charge than promised, and it probably wont fully charge your iPhone. This is false advertising and a scam.

Also, the case feels very cheap and it does not protect the iPhone from a frontal impact.

I can recomend you the UNU case, its not very pretty, but I've had it for over a year now, with minor flaws.
