Where are all those raving 5-star reviews coming from?!
on January 6, 2014
I can’t help but wonder where all those raving 5-star reviews are coming from. I based my purchase of this battery case based on a combination of two factors: much lower price than other battery cases I’ve seen people use and large amount of positive reviews (600+ reviews averaging 4 stars). The first case I received lasted one day, then the charging port was pulled out completely out of the case because it got stuck to the charging cable. I thought: ”ok so I got a defective unit, it can happen, it’s probably an exception, look at all those positive reviews” and I ordered a replacement. The replacement didn’t even last one day – it would shut off after 5-10 minutes and not charge the phone even when plugged in and the phone’s battery was at below 50%. Then I did some research and checked the 5-star reviews but clicking on the “See all my reviews” button next to their name. And what do you know! Very many of the very happy reviewers have written only one review for this awesome product only and never a review for anything else! That does not look real. I suspect the marketing company might have hired a local PR company to provide those 5-star reviews in order to boost the sales. But that is only my opinion. I hope the marketing does not catch on to this and provide more reviews for other products to make it look more legit – at this point, to me, it looks somewhat obviously like a scam. I am returning both cases those and advise you to be cautious about this product.
