1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this book!, July 30, 2007

.... don't steal it, and if you get it as a gift, return it for the cash or use it to start a fire. There is little more here than that available on the 10 th mountain web site. Nothing alternative or adventurous. Just the standard cattle tracks. You'd do much better buying Dawson's book, if you can find it. Too bad it's out of print. It has excellent alternate routes off the well worn and beaten track. But if the tame and mundane are what you're looking for, this is the manual for you. You'll probably be thrilled "treking" down the highly coiffured road from Vail Pass to the Shrine Mtn. Inn paid for by your Vail Pass fees (although my suspicion is those fees actually support the snowmobile lobby). Some adventure. If that's the case, what are you doing out in these mountains in the winter. Happy Trails.
