I purchased this scope to use to see the targets at a rifle match. I am in the Marine Corps and the scopes that were provided were old and often cloudy. The Alpen scope was crystal clear and it was the envy of the other competitors. I only utilized the 20x power setting, but could see the shot spotters easily from the 500 yard line. Lastly, the ability to rotate the scope around the mounting ring inorder to move the eyepiece to a more user friendly postion was also a big advantage over a few guys that had straight scopes. I would gladly recommend the scope to others.

I will be using this for target shooting.

I am a long time avid photographer and I have always consider my self a good judge of quality optics. This is an outstanding scope for the money. Bright and clear view. Well built.

This spotting scope has very excellent optics,there is a power substation 1200 yards from our back porch and with the scope on high I was able to read the warning signs on the fence surroding it.I would highly recommend this scope

I was disappointed in this scope. After reading the reviews here on Amazon I thought this would be the scope to fit my needs and at a great price. Unfortunately I was greatly disappointed in the image quality of this scope above about 30x or 40x. From 20x to 30x the image was sharp and bright but above 30x-40x I could not get a sharp focus and the chromatic aberations were extreme. I give this scope 3 stars since it worked rather well over half the zoom range.

Value for money can't be beaten. Excellent optics for a mid price range spotting scope. Used soley for hunting and would recommend this product to anybody.Very clear viewing. Lifetime warranty, water and fog proof,what more can I say, excellent item Alpen. Am Very satisfied.

Comparing the glass on this to my Leica rangefinder, the Leica is slightly clearer and has more light transmision. The Alpen is still a great bang for the buck. Still very clear. Durable. Light. Good color. You should be happy with it.

Cons: Bag is kinda cheap. Small tripod that probably won't get used. No lens covers and they will be hard to get because of the fast focus eye-piece. You'll have to use a bikini or buy an overpriced case.
