Alpen isn't one of the big names, but they make a great product for a reasonable price. I bought a pair for elk hunting and backpacking and they worked flawlessly. The only person who ever spotted game faster than me was a nauseated guy trying to use an old pair of 20x binoculars without a tripod! He must've gotten lucky...
The image is bright, crisp and clear, and the twist-down eyecups accommodate my glasses very well. The focus knobs stay put, even after a long day on the trail. My only complaint is that the lens covers didn't always stay put, but overall it was a minor complaint. Forget those micro-mini binoculars for hunting, hiking and backpacking - these are great, and don't weight much at all! |
