This was needed to plug two 4-pin Molex case fans to a single fan header on an Asus P6P67 Pro motherboard. Note that while the adapter is a 3-pin female, there are only two leads (power and ground). Lacking a control lead, the motherboard is unable to control the fan speeds. For my particular needs this was acceptable but the net result is no different than if I'd plugged the fans directly into the power supply.

I ordered a new Tower for my most recent build, but there was one small problem. All of the fans in the case had Molex power connectors. If I wanted to use the system speed controlled pin connectors on my new Mother Board with all of the Case fans incorporated into my new tower(7 - 120mm fans and 1 - 80mm exhaust fan), I had to adapt them from the Molex connectors back to the 3 pin style connectors located on my Mother Board. This product was the perfect solution. The CPU is a 4 pin connector on the Mother Board, but the CPU Cooler comes with the correct 4 pin connector if you have done your research before the purchase. The case and system fan connectors on the Mother Board were all 3 pin connectors. I ordered what the system required to take full advantage of the 3 pin connectors and the on board speed controls. Everything installed easy & worked great. Thanks!

Just bought this adapter. It works for the most part, you can use it to power a case fan via a 3-pin connector if the fan only has a Molex connector. However, I didn't pay enough attention to the photo. There's no yellow wire going to the 3-pin connector, so it can't be used to connect to a motherboard and monitor fan speed, which is why I bought it. No sense in returning it though; shipping costs more than the adapter, and it only cost a few bucks. Oh well, my mistake - I'll have to pay more attention next time.

Didn't realize there was such a product until I asked Antec for a way to utilize my motherboard fan control. Worked great!

The converter cable I received was a 3 pin MALE to molex NOT the 3 pin FEMALE to molex that is pictured. The cables I received seem fine, but they are not what I needed.

The product is an average cable; it's just a power adaptor for fans. Kind of hard to get it wrong, it just works and that good enough for me.

Works well for a steady speed case fan.

I never use variable speeds in my case, just a simple, steady fan.

That is exactly what this does. It works well and does it job.

Would recommend.
