Another Consistent Effort From Bizzy,
By N3R0 (Story City, Iowa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Alpha & Omega (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
So, the "No Intro" intro sucks. Yeah, really, just plain sucks. I was actually kinda worried when the first track of the album was just Bizzy rambling mostly unintelligibly over a ridiculous beat I'm glad he didn't try to rap over. BUT the second song was indeed a saving grace, because I'm sure I wouldn't have listened to the rest of the album if it weren't as good as it is. Bizzy has a habit of putting his better songs first ("Thug'z Cry", "We Ride", etc.) and this cd is no different. One thing I noticed was the differences in his cadences all over this album. Bone Thugs have always been known for their flow and harmony, but Bizzy really makes a point to prove on this album that he is quite lyrical. Case in point, "I Understand", possibly the best song of his career. It showcases a very mature and accountable Bizzy moving on from his past (much like "Demons Surround Me" from Heaven'z Movie). Another dope song on this cd is "All In Together Now" a story of female betrayal with a dope beat and a well put story. Okay, again, with most Bizzy cd's, the weak point is the production. Not just the beats, but some of the choruses. Case in point, the off-key singing on "Die 4 U" works well enough, but I can't get past "Mirror, Mirror on the wall..." from track 12. Overall, this is a dope album, but Bizzy's done better. It's a great addition to your collection if you're a huge Bone Thug fan but if you're just casual fan, this might not be the best choice.
Oh, I really really hate it when rap artists put clean versions of songs on dirty cds. It's just unnecessary, so this album loses points for the otherwise dope "Better Run, Better Hide".

i would be lying my azz off if i said this album has good production.the truth of the matter is it doesn't.but thats not why i bought it i bought it because of his lyricisim which keeps improoving.if you judge albums soley by the production then skip this album, but your a fool if your gonna dissmiss it because of lousy production.thats what more or less happened with krayzie bones last solo cd thug on da line.
stand out tracks are murdah, better run better hide,i understand and i;m sure i'm forgetting more. bottom line buy it for the lyrics.

BEST BIZZY ALBUM,
By
This review is from: Alpha & Omega (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
This albums follows the murder of bizzy bones 'brother' capo alias konfucious. I feel like this album addresses all the issues (such as being a kicked out member of BONE) that comprise the individual bizzy bone. Honest, candid, revealing and passionate, this album is no way commercial but truly heart felt and delivered. With the exception of about 3 or 4 songs...i have enjoyed this album more than any other bizzy solo album.

Bizzy is the best in the game,
This review is from: Alpha & Omega (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
Music and everything else in life is presentation and content. Bizzy is the best rapper in the game because of the content he serves. Just like 2pac used to, Bizzy comes sincere. It's a shame that true emotions can fall on unrecognizing ears. Production could be improved, but when you're judging vehicles, sometimes the engine matters more than the body style.
Bizzy is one of the few rappers that actually grows as a person as he gets older. Because of this I can identify with him, and this makes him interesting as a person. Stay up Bryon. As for delivery, Bizzy puts every rapper to ****ing shame, I have never heard anybody as on point as he is when he wants to be. Tech N9ne and Twista are good, but Bizzy is better. Period.

Good and Bad,

Lyrically, Bizzy has stepped his game up tremendously. This is a more personal album. Lyrics are great, flow is great, he did his part. What really hurt this album, is the production. There were a few good ones on here, but for the most part, the quality of the production was a couple steps down from "The Gift". However, Bizzy did enough to save the album from being a 2 or 3. DEFINITELY A "MUST GET" for Bone fans.

Bizzy Who?,

This review is from: Alpha & Omega (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
So the world has forgotten about Bizzy, hell, forgotten about Bone for that matter. While some of that can be blamed on their inability to release and album on time, or to get decent publicity and marketing for their work (blame Ruthless). I think the more important reason is that the intelligence level of the rap industry is being lowered more and more every day it seems. If a song isn't instructing the listener to "brush your shoulders off", or "lean back" or somehow making reference to a female's posterior, then it just wont sell. Bone hit the scene as revolutionaries in their craft, new styles, new flows, new ideas, and that worked for a while, until people decided they didn't want to think that much about their music. As a result we're drowning in shallow meaningless club rap. Songs that have the shelf life of a gallon of milk in the back end of my car mid-July. How many of Juvenile's juvenile songs do you see breaking records like "tha Crossroads" did?
Ranting aside, Bizzy seems to have released a very piculiar addition to his solo career (finally). Almost gone is his breakneck speed, and even the sing-song style from The Gift. I've attempted to keep up with all the news and rumors over the past 10 years, and from that I conclude this: Bizzy could make album after album of indecipherable words, get his messages lost, and be pigeonholed as a one-trick pony. From the time The Gift dropped until this albums release, it seems he's had more clutter of rumors and accusations around him than ever before. So perhaps it was time for him to clear his throat so to speak. Pick a style that was his rather than his past's, and just deliver everything from his mind and heart for his true fans to listen to and say...yeah, I can see where he's coming from. Critcs and music snobs be damned, this is a more modest Bizzy effort what what it lacks in glamour and style, it makes up for 10-fold in content.

near perfect,
By Jesse Aldridge "Jah" (Lincoln, Nebraska) - See all my reviews

I didn't even waste my time reading other peoples reviews. I'm guessing "bizzy is all washed up" or "whats wrong with that bum". This is actually Bizzy at his best. With better representation this would be a classic and I treat my copy as one. As a true rap fan here is a good review: The first 4 songs on "Alpha and Omega" are better than "E.1999 Eternal" Alone. There a two songs that are not well produced but make up for it with sick flows. I will warn you if you are expecting anything like "Heavenz Movie" you will be NOT dissapointed. It has a a different feel because Bizzy found himself (Thank God he has distanced himself from Bone). If you like Bizzy or like personal albums this is for you, and you won't skip a song. YOU MUST HEAR THIS ALBUM!!!

I am a huge Bone Thug N Harmony fan and this guy can rap and write some deep lyrics and this release is his best but the production aint that great and it brings the cd down especially to people who like beats but the lyrics make up for it. Please buy this album cause u need to buy real rap and not commercial rap. This guy is a true hustler and doesn't talk about jewels and cars only stuff that happens on the street and he has been though it all. BUY THE ALBUM NOW

A different vibe,
By L1 (Hallandale/Boca, Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Alpha & Omega (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
Let me start out by stating the obvious:This is a different album from Bizzy Bone. The Gift had a deeper, more afro-cenrtic, more religious feel to it. Alpha and Omega is more for the streets. Don't get me wrong, Bizzy the Kid still has messages, but from a different perspective. Now for the review, Bizzy Bone has grown as a writer, his lyrics are better now than in previous albums. This is shown in "Sit Back Relax". Another song that is praise-worthy is "Thug World". This song is great because of the strange topics. He mentions Illuminati which ties into the hook of the song, "The world ain't yours/Thug world/These last days/you better prepare for war." Other songs that are solid are: "Not Afraid", "Tha Streets"(Capo Confuscious was a good rapper), "I Understand", "We Play"
Now for the bad! "No Intro" is uneccessary b/c it is all talk. "Murdah" is less than par and the song has no point. The 2nd worst song is "All in Together" "You f*ck em for strictly physical/I f*ck you a spiritual/" What the hell is that? The absolute worst song is "Everywhere I Go". The lyrics, the hook, the beat, everything is horrible. As far as overall production, Bizzy still has rather weak production. Bizzy needs to hook up with DJ Uneek(The producer that did "Art of War") Overall it is a solid album with a more mature,intellectual,buisness-savy Bizzy Bone. It does take while to grow onto the listener, but once it does the listener appreciates it even more.R.I.P Adrian "Capo" Parlette, Karlos Shammar Davis, and Aurbey "Big Arb" George, Tupac Shukar, Notorious B.I.G., ODB and especially Lee Anthony Scott. P.S. Watch out for KT3-Keem "The Computer" Tory(producer, writer, and hitmaker).

Bizzy: The Deffinition of "Original",
By 2G "G2" (Sac, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Alpha & Omega (W/Dvd) (Audio CD)
First off, the beats aren't that great, but lyrical content and Bizzy's creativity make up for that very very well ... but good production could help as well.
As far as appearences it has more other than Big B, but not people outside of 7th Sign Regime, it is more members of 7th Sign Regime, including Capo-Confuscious (who was murdered last June) a very close friend to Bizzy Bone, they grew up in the foster care system, many think that's his brother by blood but thats just how he feels about him, all his siblings are females. the CD also includes 7th's Josiah, Hollis Jae (of The Orange Catz, a underground R&B group Bizzy signed) and Prince Rasu. Artists on Bizzy's label actually have talent compared to artists from Mo Thugs and Thugline, not that I am being biased because I like Bizzy the most but because they actually are a lot more talented, even the rappers on the label, they aren't your run-of-the-mill generic rappers, hopefully we'll hear more from the label soon. Overall the album is good, if you're a fan of Bizzy's tounge twisting you may be dissapointed but if you're into Bizzy for difference and growth each time he comes out with something, then you are going to like the album a lot, this one isn't him heavily drunk rapping hardly audible about killing folks, selling crack and thuggin' all the way, he has his 'thug' moments if you want to call them that, but it's in him, so you kind of expect it, I am just glad the album isn't a 100% Thug Theme like fellow members Layzie and Krayzie, if they move on to different things I would be very happy, they could do it if they wanted to, I think they boast the Thug Theme each album to guarentee their usual sales from the usual fan base who like the 'Thug Stuff' ... but they can do so much more if they tried, I don't mind the Thug Stuff, but each album is saturated with more Thugness than any piece of meat has fat, they need to balance it out like they do on the Group efforts, very little thuggin' and a lot of songs with different subjects. Bottom line, get this album, listen to it more than once, toungue twisting isn't all there is :O) Bizzy tends to stay away from the norm and strive to come different each time, even if he isn't sure people will like it, I like that about him. |
