1.0 out of 5 stars Beatles Bootleg - Buyer Beware!, September 16, 2011
By
John Sposato (Syracuse, NY, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Alpha Omega Vol. 1 (Vinyl)
Many hardcore fans, especially in the States may have heard of this release, more if one was old enough to remember it being pitched on TV. The sound quality is a few generations removed from what an LP usually is, and this is because the tracks were copied from the US LPs. This is nothing more than a bootleg comprised of official material. Compilations like this have turned up in the former bloc countries. It is because of this ripoff that the red and blue albums were released. Then Alpha Omega was pulled from sale, making it a collectors item anyway.
Fans may have most if not all of these tracks already, so it would make more sense to even get the rare import 'Beatles Greatest' than this poor mans collection. I saw this on pirate CD from a seller the other day in my area but didn't pay one dime on this haphazard hodge podge. Spent money on solo CDs instead bought from someone else. I also saw this at a shop once but also then didn't think it was worth a bother. Completeists would rather spend money on a bootleg of unreleased material than buy inferior copies of the same tracks they already may have.
