I ordered this CD because I liked the music samples. I listened to the samples many times before I actually made the purchase.

The sample for "Clarity" sounds like rain and wind or air off in the distance. It sounded very pleasant and relaxing. But when you listen to the whole track you will find that it starts off with this rain sound and then later you hear the faint sound of a low pitched organ. If that was it, then the track would be OK but the organ sound gets a little louder and then the pitch gets higher. Also you hear what sounds like the rushing air sound that fast moving cars make in the background.

The sample for "In the Zone" sounds like a babbling brook with a few birds off in the distance. That sounded very pleasant and relaxing. But when you listen to the whole track you hear it starts off with this babbling brook sound then you hear an organ sound and then later a solo piano tune. When the organ sound started getting to a higher pitch, I developed a headache. The solo piano tune was pleasant but was distracting to what I was doing.

I don't regret my purchase of this CD, but to be honest, I'll probably never listen to it again. I have purchased 6 or more of Dr. Jeffrey Thompson's CDs and to date my favorites are "Sleepy Rain" and "Sleepy Ocean". I highly recommend both of these CDs because they provide a very relaxing and serene atmosphere while doing computer work. Sleepy Ocean & Rain

I rarely review items, but this is one of my favorite "brain wave" CDs. I play it often while I work and it mellows me out instantly so that I can concentrate and focus. The piano melody is very soothing , and the nature elements are effective without being overwhelming.

This 2 CD set really helps me to get relaxed. The Alpha technology combined with the music really works for me.
