I bought this product for my 20 month old but I know it will be great for my newborn as well; being because it is black and white. Very stimulating to look at
This really helped us get through all the hours and effort teaching our son the alphabet. It's tastefully done and clever by using the first letter in name to form the creature, and even using the same letter for words landscaping elements the animals are in.
I'll admit that as a graphic designer sometimes the kid items out there are not my style. I purchased a set of these flash cards for a friend's daughter and I think that I may purchase a set for me. They are wonderfully crafted and have held up well to the use of a 14 month old who still loves to chew on everything.
I purchased these cards after seeing the Alphabeasties book at one of the Smithsonian art museums. I loved the interesting use of fonts and the creative graphics. When I looked for the book, I found the cards and decided to buy these for my nephew's first birthday instead. They quickly became his favorite alphabet book/game. In addition to the letter side, the backs of the cards makes a large animal floor puzzle which he loves to do. These cards are now my go-to gift for my friends' children's birthdays.
